I'm sure other people are curious, of the times you have done this, what were/was the outcome/reaction?

One case I didn't get anything. Being the trader was in Canada my options were very limited. In another scenario I finally received my beer after ~2-3 weeks of me doing more than asking politely for my beer.

Apparently @smitty5245 uses the same username all over the internet. I was especially pissed when I found his twitter & untappd accounts, and I confirmed his check-ins to the beers I sent. People, please keep the heat on him. Something has got to give. I contacted all of his former trading partners yesterday and got some good information from them. Apparently he did this sort of thing to MOST of them, waited forever, lied, etc. Yet somehow, he kept a 100 PERCENT trade rating?!

Thats actually not very surprising to me. It seems like people here are willing to give other people a lot of rope, and VERY hesitant to write something negative about other users (perhaps out of fear of retaliation).

I left negative feedback for another trader who then messaged me and basically called me a jerk for doing so. I told him "facts are facts" and everything I said was true. If more people left true, accurate feedback, less people would be getting screwed in their trades.

i had this very same situation happen over at ratebeer earlier this year. i sent mine and weeks went by with very little communication. the communication we did have was brief and filled with excuses. finally i located him on instagram by googling his name and finding pictures of the beer and mead i sent. i called him out in front of all of his friends and the beer was on its way shortly thereafter but it took 6 weeks all together. he had a ton of positive feedback. i left a neutral feedback and he was pretty mad but people need to know what they are dealing with. his account over there is now flagged and hes done it to more people.

Why would you leave neutral feedback for someone that tried to steal your beer? You had to literally find him on another medium and call him out there. Six weeks is incredibly not ok. People that continually give people that pass just allow them to screw other people over.

    Sorry, rant over.

i left neutral feedback because i did end up getting my beer and i got some silly good extras. i figured neutral would at least get peoples attention and i left a detailed explanation.

So you reward the guy for being incredibly late but including good extras. I don't think that is fair to other traders but to each their own. Wouldn't you have preferred someone called this person out for their poor trading before you had to go searching multiple platforms for him to know he was a scumbag? Now he keeps trading with a spotless reputation because he gave you extras.

Nope, luckily I've not needed to spend a second on that site as this one has provided me more RTP than I could hope for.

Unless neutral is the worst grading you can give someone I think you went to easy on them.

i started my trading career over there and i cant trade mead here so i still visit that site. there are some good people over there. i got my beer and then some so i didnt think the worst possible trade feedback was needed. a neutral feedback will not go unnoticed over there. i couldnt bring myself to give him negative feedback when i received around $100 in extras. my neutral feedback and the fact that i warned the mods have caused a huge red warning on his trader rating page to pop up so i assure you i did what i needed to warn other traders.

I'll take some of the blame for keeping his feedback up. My reason was 90% fear of retaliation (he already left feedback, but can easily change it), and 10% that I ended up getting what I wanted. If I had confirmation my rep wouldn't take a hit, I'd change it in a heartbeat.

Im pretty sure he would be banned if he did that. For next time. Hopefully there is never a next time.

    exactly this.

abuse of the feedback system will result in a ban.

if you suspect a problem of this nature, let one of the staff know.

you can always easily go back and change your feedback rating to properly reflect what happened @turbo622 ...

this is true. i get 1-2 BMs each week asking how to do this.

that said, know that mods can see the historical changes to feedback and when complaints are raised, it's not hard to sort out what happened based on some inquiries and checks of site records. it works best when everyone plays nice in the trade sand box, but there are always a few jerks who think it's a litter box.

@turbo622 has been very helpful to me in this situation. I understand the fear of retaliation. I just wish more people were aware of the fact that that feedback retaliation will be punished. If I had heard any of the stories about @smitty5245 that his past traders told me in messages... I would have NEVER considered a trade with him. That is how the system is supposed to work. Unfortunately, I saw 100% positive, assumed it was save, and got SCREWED. I do now have more contact info for him (thanks to leads from his past trade partners and other helpful BA detectives), including a phone number, Facebook, twitter, and even his wife's Facebook. I'd imagine she would be a bit upset to find out her husband is a liar and a thief... I hope it doesn't come to that...
