So this is a sale/proxy deal. Not a trade.

It was setup outside of BA.

Because of the top two points it doesn't use the trading system here.

OP is not out beer or money.

Seems to me, and based upon a recent thread in this forum, that this "disagreement" doesn't belong here. Just my $0.02.

Trolling seems a bit harsh. After reading the thread it seems like his concerns were legitimate if the tone was perhaps incorrect. I do not check my alerts each time I log on, as there are times I need only a fast reference or input, so the argument that "alert = thread viewed" seems overly simplistic and perhaps false in this case, which means this mod may have made a false accusation. At that point I do not blame the guy for defending himself, at least in that very specific area of this talk. Of course if he is lying and you see that he did indeed look and then ignored, then good on you guys for calling him out on it.

Sorry to disprove your argument but we can also see he LOOKED at this thread.

And like I said, if he did indeed look then that makes complete sense. I was just saying that trolling seems somewhat harsh if the guy was simply defending a position. Cheers!

Its just like i can see you added this after i replied,. We can see a lot, and have no time to be told what we see isn't true, trolling in my book. He will be back in 24 hours after his time out hopefully with a different tone. We are not here to argue just keep the peace.

Perhaps after you read my input though?

I can see how that would have happened. I edited my comment very quickly with no intent to mislead, I just see that my quote with full context is the one you quoted. Really not trying to be difficult here, just want the truth. Sorry if this is annoying, I will drop it as you guys likely have way more important things to do.

    Back on topic please.

It's here as information, *not* as a way to resolve the issue.

People trading here deserve the courtesy of knowing what they're getting into with other traders here. Reputation is everything in trading.

And, of course, the community is free to make their own conclusions as to whether or not the OP was justified in starting the thread or not.

It still all comes back to good communication...that's really the root cause of the problem in this thread.

I'm still not sure we have all of the details, otherwise I'd lock it at this point. For now, it stays open.

Everyone can make their own conclusions or decisions on it.

Are there any other pieces of info I can prove or questions I can respond to?

I would want more information from @BrownAleMale once off of timeout, he didn't take the opportunity to share much so far; more so than more of your side of the story, which seems pretty complete.

What's kinda ironic, is that they are (2) BA's from the same state. You think we could work together better. I'd offer one up, but I consumed one and sent one out as an "extra".
I can see if any of my Chicago peeps can help you out.

So If it is true that @BrownAleMale lives an hour away and was going to be in the area the first time to drop off beers to someone else and did make an effort, is it wrong he backed out. the effort was made and driving another two hours as a favor does seem excessive. I can see anger which caused timeout for some personal info out there but seemed to be taken down quickly by mods.

Why would he need to block on Facebook. A simple message of "i tried and don't want to drive again. if you want it you can pick up by me" would have been enough to prevent this thread. Im not picking sides because there still more information missing.

@Mitchell57 Have you had any experiences with @BrownAleMale picking up beers in the past? Also, when was the agreement made for him to pick up beers and when was the exchange originally planned? hope this can clear thing up.

This was our first time interacting. We are both in the one of the same tasting groups, but were not there on the same nights. The agreement was made for him to pick up beers from Half Acre on Facebook I believe about a week prior. There were other local Beer Advocates discussing going down together and I couldn't make it. BrownAleMale's first attempt to meet up was on Friday 12/26/14. He knew I had to work until about 5pm, and then was available after. It didn't match either of our schedules too well, so 01/01/15 was decided upon after.

Below is the rest of the conversations I can still find. These are from before the ones I posted in the second post of the thread. We touched base on 12/26/14, and both agreed we couldn't meet to my recollection...I had work until too late, and he was then busy.

Hey Mitchell, tomorrow I will be up your way. I'm meeting (Name) from the Milwaukee beer advocates at the (Location) where he works and then some friends in (City) at 4.
    Him
What do you think would work best? I can meet on the way up to the (Location) or after I'm done on my way to new Berlin. What works best for you?
    Mitchell
Hi there. I work until 445 in (City). What do you think? Unfortunately I'm not just off lol
    Him
Maybe I could get a hold of you when I leave my friends. Probably around 7-8 and we could meet? Otherwise I'll be back north on Jan 1st around mid day. Let me know what works best
    Mitchell
Either or. I don't mind waiting if need be. I live right by three cellars and not far from the airport. Feel free to text tomorrow

    Ok will do

This thread is stupid. The mods should have deleted it from the get go. Muling/Proxies are not allowed on this site. Why would you allow a bad muling thread the details which were decided on another site?

there's formal prohibition on muling or proxies here. not sure where you got that idea.

the reason the thread exists is to let other traders know about situations involving traders on *this* site. bad behavior elsewhere doesn't earn you a free pass here.

That pertains only to posts in the ISO:FT forum itself. Discussion of those topics is permitted in all other forums, particularly regional forums for society memberships, releases where proxies are allowed and so forth.

And if you think BM isn't used to discuss things like this, you're fooling yourself.

Don't understand why the people who have the biggest problem with this thread are the ones who have very few to 0 trades done.

For those of us who take care in their trading, especially since this guy is local for me, the way you act in any kind of beer transaction and towards other BAs matter. If you don't trade, why even read this thread and comment if it offends your sensibilities so much?
