Barrel aged appearance?

    These specific instances seems to imply that BA beers are darker and that is what they are judging it by. Which is crazy.

    Just pour a glass of regular Pt5. Black as oil. Not BA.

    Yep; I have had several BA's that were not dark.

    Yuengling Traditional Lager is darker than many whiskys that spent years in a barrel.

    You got me there. I've had barrel aged IPAs from Foothills on tap and you couldn't see thru the glass, and the bourbon was rich. On a dark brew only smell and taste would be the qualifier. Look? Go figure.
