Barrel Aged Coffee Stouts

    These have to be about my favorite combination possible...

    Why aren't there more of them?! I have BA beers coming out of my ears, but why is it so hard to track down a coffee version? It can't be that hard to add some cold pressed beer..

    These are honestly the only ones I am familiar with:
    • Bourbon County Brand Coffee Stout
    • Avery Tweak
    • Barrel Aged Speedway Stout (ISO)
    • Barrel Aged Sump (ISO)

    What are some other great barrel aged coffee stouts out there without any other adjuncts?

    Edit: By Adjunct, I mean no vanilla or chocolate or nutmeg etc.

    I believe Mother Earth Silent Night and Humboldt Black Xantus qualify, yes?

    Stone 2013 Espresso IRS was divine. Hoping they bring that back.

    OP, by "other adjuncts," I take it that you mean no vanilla or chocolate added, correct?

    If you allow for those, then KBS would qualify. So would Epic Big Bad Baptist, correct?

    That is correct. I can find 100 with vanilla or chocolate :slight_smile:

    Oh yeah, I've been wishing for that for a long time :slight_smile:

    This is the obvious issue:
    2012 Release: Recalled due to infection
    2013 Release: Recalled (at least in part) due to infection
    2014 Release: Recalled due to infection

    Please stop mentioning Big Bad Baptist. People will start to catch onto its greatness, and then I'll be SOL when trying to buy ALL of it for myself.

    KBS and Big Bad Baptist have chocolate. Did that Eclipse have honey like the others? I am not familiar.

    I'm trying to be optimistic for 2015! When it's not infected it is such a great beer that it makes me forget about how hard it is to get KBS. Here's hoping to a great batch in 2015. cheers!

    Rum Caffe Americano (basically Coffee Zhukov with lower ABV, then rum barrel aged) Incredible beer.

    Love BBB too.

    Cafe noir by tap it is an imperial coffee porter aged in Pinot noir barrels, really tasty and not well known.
