They should just release the BA Rye Chocolate Porter to the masses. Put it in 4 packs and it will sell quickly.

    Bean Gene was just released.

I was fortunate enough to taste the nectar of the Gods, Parabajava, at this year's Dark Lord Day. It was amazing.

    BA Coffee Framinghamer is awesome.

I also finally got to try the CW rye porter you always talk about in the great lakes forum, I now understand your obsession.

Fremont's Coffee BBA Oatmeal Stout is pretty awesome. Think I'll pick me up another bottle.

A born and raised KY boy speaking here. I think beers should either be BBA or a coffee stout. The coffee in all these beers steals that great barrel taste (bcbcs included). IMO that's why you age in barrels to get that strong barrel flavor don't mask it. It's beautiful.

wasn't crazy for BA Smoking Wood imho, but the coffee variation was damn good.

BBB (especially this new batch) is incredible, and i love how it's so accessible.

Other amazing ones are of course Prairie (Bomb! and Pirate Bomb!) BCBCS, Mocha Wednesday, and Vietnamese Speedway.

I know it's not a stout, but Bruery Melange #8 is another awesome coffee strong ale. Sweet and viscous like a stout.

I'd second that. Too bad its the last year they're releasing it. Also I had a 4 year vertical at the launch last friday. It hasn't aged well.

Has an adjunct (brown sugar), technically invalidates it. Sounds delicious though.

This is actually true for quite a few of their oak/barrel-aged beers. Varying times and varying types of barrels.

Such a shame. I never had a bad bottle, and when it was good it was one of only two coffee beers I would be willing to stand in line for. It was cheaper than that one too (Xocoveza), and it was barrel-aged.

Technically not barrel-aged, they use oak chips.

Actually the word from the disto is that they arent going to make it any more as they are unable to locate where the infection is coming from. They think there maybe something up with the recipe because they use the same bottling line for the stout and barleywine.

You also didn't have to stand in line for it. It is pretty sad that its gone though. PM was good in bottles but it was ridiculous on tap. It had such a deep coffee flavor complimented by the barrel and imperial stout. It was my favorite stout in the reserve series.

That's very strange that it only ever affected that one beer. I've never heard of infected coffee but it seems it had to be related to the coffee addition.

If you're looking for coffee in Silent Night, you're going to be looking for a while. It has no coffee taste whatsoever.

For a bad ass coffee BA beer from NC, try Bourbon Barrel Up All Night from Triple C. It's technically a porter, but has more coffee flavor than you can shake a stick at.
