BCBS Black Friday - Chicago Suburbs

Far western burbs, Elgin / St. Charles area. I have been through that thread and it looked like it is long gone at most places.

 

Your burbs I'm not sure, but I know they had some regular at Skokie Binny's yesterday. I think there are still some around and it sounds like some Mariano's and Whole Foods aren't doing their releases until this upcoming week. It may not be all gone.

 

Genos in Elgin is getting it later this week, I called, he didn't know what day exactly. With his store you usually just have to stumble upon it as he doesn't really post anything he gets online much anymore.

 

If anyone has tips on bars in the northwest burbs that have it on tap (particularly the variants) over the next few weeks would that would be appreciated! I suck at finding these things timely for some reason.

 

I heard Consume in LZ might be tapping Prop tomorrow. May be worth checking out.

 

Picked up two '16 Barleywine this morning from a place that was really just a gas station, Northern Illinois. It was all they had left of any BC. Took a chance on a 50min drive southwest. Don't know why this place got an allotment.

 

It's true, they get the least every year, shame, good people there, hands are tied.

 

Armanetti's had some left yesterday buuuuttt they were selling $20 reg, $25 BW, and $40 Prop.

I bought a prop and had to buy something else goose island.

I think your best best to get any of the variants on tap is to go to the Goose Island Taproom.

 

Yeah I see that on twitter all the time but can't ever make it downtown with kiddos. Hoping to get lucky in the burbs if the stars align. But thanks!

 

I live in St Charles and will bump the thread if I see a variant on draft. Last year, coffee and BW showed up on draft. It's actually the macro-craft places that are most likely to get it since they always have GI lines for regular beers. The various TapHouse chains will have tap takeover events for special occasions. The House Pub ( a place I really like) has 14 reg and 16 Prop in their coming soon list

 

If your near Naperville, I just saw a post saying Crosstown is pouring all 2014-2016 BCBS and 16 Prop.

Its definitely true. I used to go there every year...it's a shame. Every one there is so nice

 

I was at Lake in the hills costco Friday morning and they only had one case of barley wine. Me a few people got one each and three regulars.

 

They got 1 case of each and the employees held some for themselves. 4 bottles of anything just seems logistically ridiculous. I doubt the distributer is breaking up cases.

 

Strolled into a Jewel near me in the near NW suburbs around 8:45am on Friday. Guy was stocking the shelves with regular, no one around. I asked the max purchase @ $9.99 and he said 36...which is what he had left. It almost didn't seem right. I purchased 10, no lines, no thrill really, and checked out. Left the rest for others. I have more than I've ever had before, yet feel less accomplished. It was too easy, and the chase is part of the pay-off. Oh well, cheers!

 

Anyone know of any laying around the Buffalo Grove/Wheeling area? Or coming soon?

Already have 6 BCBS and 2 BCBW, hoping to accumulate more to acquire at least 1 coffee variant.

 

Liquor Barn in Wheeling had about 8-10 BW left as of Sat night.
