Looks like your ‘20 had a similarly low head to my can that I purchased last month. Hope I can find bottles again next year instead of these cans.

Triple de Garre at Belgian Beer Fest month at my local beer bar. Sad to say I missed this jewel when I was in Brugge last year.

    Sante!

Enjoying the final brew from Delirium's four beer "Parade Pack" my first ever Deliria. A solid beer, but it's also on the verge of being too sweet and personally reminds me of toothpaste, but in a good way. If that makes any sense. I suppose have strange tastes?

Anyways, not the strongest Delirium brew but I'd still recommend trying it.

Another cross post from the Cellaruary thread:

    Duchesse De Bourgogne

Best Before Date of 2025/01/25. Accordingly to this thread, the brewery at least previously dated their bottles with a 2 year date, which would make this a roughly 3 year old bottle right now. But that also means that my interpretation of the Petite Duchesse can date I mentioned earlier in this thread was probably wrong or was missing a year? Unclear.

As for the beer itself - it's great. This is probably my favorite Belgian sour beer - great balance of sweet dark malt, fruitiness, with a balancing tartness in the finish - just enough to pucker the cheeks a bit in a satisfying way.

    Another from the cellar:

Juicy & Wild Black-Belle from Lambiek Fabriek

From a 375ml capped and corked bottle packaged on 11 2023. Pored into a tulip. A two finger fine off white head on a clear dark orange red. The head soon diminished to a thick layer that sticks around, probably helped by a nucleated glass. Lots of foamy lacing.

A solid sour fruit aroma. The taste is very tart up front. The black current these there. A long, very dry finish.

A prickly mouthfeel. A very smooth texture. A light body and strong carbonation. Overall a fine Fruit Lambic. Not very complex but very good if you like Fruit Lambics that are on the tart side.

I’m not really enjoying this Green’s Tripel. It’s ok, but their Dubbel is way better. The feel coupled with the sweet fruit I’m getting upfront on the taste reminds of cheap champagne.

Probably poured it too warm at 58 degrees. Took it out of the fridge and then got distracted by my neighbor buddy. I’ll probably buy it again the next time I go to Whole Foods and drink it at a colder temperature.

Expanding Fractals from Temporal in Vancouver. A blend of Belgian-style quads aged for 40 months in Blanton's bourbon barrels. Super long boil (8 hours) and fermented with Abbey Yeast. 12.4% ABV.

Fantastic stuff. I definitely get the quad, but the barrel has a heavy influence. A great creation. Toffee pudding, brown sugar, big malts, spice, blackberries, plums, and bourbon.

Sounds like an excellent beer Tim, really regret not getting any Temporal. I suspect we will be back out in NW Washington to visit the grandson a few years down the road and another trip to Vancouver as i plan to pick up some of that goodness!
My Belgian Tripel style beer from Founders that i received from a friend was not so great. Aged out but likely was not super when first packaged as i find not many American brewers can execute a Tripel comparable to the Belgian masters. "Belgian Twist" is too sweet and heavy. The esters give a traditional light fruit flavor but the agave addition added too much sweetness. Hopping is faded. Rated 3.31.
    Cheers!

My go to Belgian at home is Honey Orange Tripel by New Belgium. Val-dieu Grand Cru is my "I love this beer but only buy it at a bar so I don't wear it out" beer.

My girlfriend absolutely loved BJ's 26th Anniversary Grand Cru. I liked it too, but not as much as she did. We should have bought more. I offered her New Belgium's Tripel as an alternative, but she thought it was an inadequate substitute.

I enjoy many styles of beer from many countries, but I'd have to say overall Belgium (and Belgian styles) are where it's at for me.

I'm enjoying this de garre tripel from Bruge in Belgium. Picked this up at the source. A truly amazing beer. Banana, malts, caramel, wheat, vanilla, and orange cream. I could drink this every day of my life and be a happy man.

But your adventurous palate would get bored :stuck_out_tongue:
Sipping on a Quad called Martel from Olde Hickory in Hickory, NC bottled in 2022 and acquired last summer. This has been aged in French Armagnac barrels for 6 years and is a whopper at 14.3 abv. The oak and brandy flavors totally overwhelm the base beer. While balanced it is definitely uneven. Rated 3.89.
    Cheers!
