Based on quality and preference alone:

    Toppling goliath
    Alpine (maybe RR)
    Hill Farmstead (maybe Alchemist)

See how I got by with five. Wait, Surly is pretty good also. Ok...6.

I'll reserve my indignation under the assumption that this is a wry commentary on the number of (quite good) IPAs put out by each, but yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes. (tl;dr—links to many widely-available, well-liked non-IPAs from each...)

Well I am mostly joking about SN, as I know they put out a number of beers that are not IPAs that I find to be pretty good. However, out of the widely available Lagunitas beers, most of them are IPAs or just focus on hops. Now this isn't to discredit Lagunitas beers but I don't think there portfolio could be considered varied. The few beers they make that don't showcase hops are pretty average IMO.

Let's hear it for the Cincy brewers! Madtree is fantastic (Happy Amber in my fridge right now). I also really like Moerlein. I wasn't too impressed when they first started out, but now that they've stopped contract brewing, their quality has sky-rocketed.

I'm going to add Sam Adams. I know they're big, compared to other craft brewers, but they brew such a diverse set of styles, and I don't think I've ever had a bad beer from them. Considering the variety they put out, that's saying a lot.

An "all-around" great brewery should, IMO, put out solid lagers and Belgians in addition to the usual stouts and IPAs. So: Great Lakes, Three Floyds, Victory.

Nothing I've had from them makes me feel that what people want for their beer, whether through trades or resale, is justified. I actually find the "overpriced garbage" statement to be amusing.

How has Three Floyds been left out of the conversation?
