Posted the link and noticed it looks like a dump from uh, the other beer site. Bitter Valentine in VA is a good pick. It's definitely in the top 5 brewed in VA.
Seemed like more of a best of dark beer with high ABV from each state to me. 90% of those I think are over 8%. Lower ABVs are just as good too dammit haha
Smuttynose Baltic Porter? Don't get me wrong I'm a huge Smuttynose fan and their Baltic Porter is great but it seems like... an odd choice. The best beer from here in my opinion is Stoneface IPA, it's been years since a new IPA really surprised me and it blew me away. Also Utopias is a weird one for Mass. I have nothing against Sam Adams at all but to me Utopias isn't a "beer beer," even though it's techically an ale. It's practically a liquor, it's not like you'd sit down and have a couple glasses of Utopias... (I guess you could if you were rich, but you might have trouble getting back up again afterwards). Something from Trillium would've been a better choice for MA in my opinion. SOMEONE GET THE GUY WHO WROTE THAT LIST ON THE HORN SO I CAN TELL HIM HE'S WRONG THIS IS IMPORTANT.
I usually don't bother to critique lists, but Siberian Night, while fantasic, isn't close to the best beer in Ohio. It's not Thirsty Dog's best beer, and it's not even the best version of that specific beer. S.M.H.
Not far off on NJ... head high is really good, but I'd put over head and Carton 077xx above it. And those are just year round stuff
SSSHHHHHHH stop telling people about Stoneface, I already have enough beers I love that are impossible to get my hands on.
Hard to argue Darkness for Minnesota. We would have also accepted Abrasive, barrel aged Silhouette from Lift Bridge, or Masala Mama from Town Hall Brewery.
I'm surprised Siberian Night topped the list in Ohio. I like it but there's no way it's better than Blackout Stout or Chillwave from GLBC.
Holy shit, thank God. Panicked there for a second. Until I realized that was a shush I thought you were deflating me.
