My vote would be Michigan or California plus California has the best wine in the country.

If you come to Jersey go to Kane Brewery. A fine experience.

Probably Vermont or California, but my home state of Connecticut is catching up!

Impossible to say, but I'm fine right where I'm at. If I had a gun to my head, I would say California.

I hope that scenario never actually plays out.

America in general is the best place to be for beer. Everyone knows the best beer comes from my dirty old al copone era bath tub :astonished: VT and IL hold it down pretty hard when it comes to amazing ipa's though.

Pennsylvania because it's distribution is second to none (which can be proven empirically). Most of the best beers from around the world are sitting on the Pennsylvania shelves. Russian River, Ballast Point, Firestone Walker, Deschutes, Cigar City, Cantillion, Maine Brewing, Toppling Goliath and many more. Even the occassional keg of Hill Farmstead and Lawon's finds it's way to Philadelphia. Our own breweries aren't too shabby either.

I see CA vs. OR as a coin flip when just based on beer, but I give the nod to OR for their dramatically better growler laws.

Yes. I hate "compare" threads because a lot of people do not have equal access, therefore ... bias.

Colorado, Michigan, or Oregon. Colorado has a lot of big names (Left Hand, Oskar Blues, Funkwerks, Odells), but an even larger population of fantastic microbreweries that don't distribute outside the state, or very far (Wild Woods, Gravity, Dry Dock, Crooked Stave, etc etc).

California seems to be the general consensus. I prefer Colorado. But alot websites lean towards Oregon.

Oregon. In southeast portland you can easily walk between eight breweries and you can hit far more on a bike. I live here and can't seem to visit as many as I'd like. Bend has over a dozen in a small city and all good to excellent. Come to portland in July, Oregon Brew Fest--five days of craft brews.

I think Michigan has got to be right up there the best ( Arcadia, Bell's, Dark Horse, Dragonmead, Founders, Greenbush, Jolly Pumpkin, Kuhnenn, New Holland, North Peak, Short's, there are many more up and coming ones )

    You forgot the other qualifiers:

"Top five beers from the top five cities in a can on a budget if you could only drink one lawnmower beer for the rest of your life..."
