Haven’t been to NYC since 2014 and looking for a place with good craft beer selection and some good food too!?
Preferably a place that will have a variety too including stouts and porters.

Being in the Philly area I use Philly Tap Finder. Anything similar for NYC?

    Thanks!

    Are you talking Mid-town Manhattan?

I think you're going to have to narrow it down to what Borough & then what neighborhood/area.

I'll throw Torst out there as an option. Not cheap, but has a diverse tap list, awesome bottle list, and solid food.

As others have said, BeerMenus is a good resource.

the torst chef just left and they scaled down the menu. I hope the food is still good, I really like that burger.

mekelbergs would be my pick in brooklyn.

has three locations in Manhattan. above average taplist focused mainly on stouts and pretty good bar food.

otherwise Cooper's Craft and Kitchen. again above average taplist with very good bar food.

Jacob's Pickle's, Fool's Gold, The Jeffery are all have better taps but it all depends on your location.

I love Bondurants food. However, its all the way on the upper east side.

    A couple options to consider....

Threes has great food from the Meat Hook, their beer is excellent and they always have other awesome things on tap besides their own stuff. Check BeerMenus to see what they have before you go.

Ivan Ramen's LES/Clinton St shop has a great beer selection too, he actually has a whole Instagram account for just the beer (@thirstynoodle). They did a prix fixe event recently pairing amazing sounding food concoctions with new/rare beer selections from Hudson Valley and Interboro. I've only been to the other Ivan Ramen location but the food is incredible (there was a "Chef's Table" episode on Ivan) and I've definitely started paying more attention to their taplist after that prix fixe event.

Fool's Gold has a great selection and their food is very good.

Gingerman has a great variety of styles and their food is decent bar food.

I think it also depends on what type of food you are looking for? Do you want good bar food for lunch; an upscale dinner; etc?

Maybe I'm asking the same question as @BoardwalkBock but if you're looking for food first and foremost with decent beer, Roberta's Pizza tends to have a solid tap list. Marta is varying degrees of interesting. Grammercy Tavern has a decent beer menu (and the food is pretty good...)

John Brown Smokehouse in LIC has a great beer menu and good BBQ. It also sets you up to check out all the brewery options in LIC!

A lot of what’s being suggested is closer to above average bar food than what most people mean by good food, as the people above have said you may get better recommendations if you specify what you’re looking for.

I think the food at Ivan Ramen LES is awful, but would echo the praise for Roberta’s and the Danny Meyer places. Grammercy Tavern has a great selection of aged beer at surprisingly good prices.

Did Jacob’s Pickles reopen? I love that place, great food and a nice vibe and a pretty good tap list.

acob's Pickles indeed has reopened; there may be a wait, but they tend to have a good range of quality beers in the meantime. Its upper west side, good value food (high calories!), very popular.
Some good recommendations above; I'll throw out a few more-- Harbor Bar at WF Bryant park has 18 taps, 18 wines by the glass and raw bar/seafood/italian in a food court like space with amazing views. Haymaker near MSG is one of the best bars in the city and has tables and food. As Is which is midtown West is truly an amazing bar, and if you time things right Totto Ramen is a 2 minute walk so you are kind of eating and drinking in a different spot... finally, Auger's Well in the East Village has burgers and a bit more that I really like and a great tap list. More of a bar for sure and not fancy, but there are tables and it works great...

I will 3rd Gramercy Tavern. Union Square Cafe has stepped up their beer game - they often have Grimm, Hudson Valley, and other local stuff. Eleven Madison Park has a solid beer program and seems to now have their own Threes collab.

Was waiting for the 11MP suggestion haha

RIP Lupolo. Anyone know if/where they’ll reopen? What I read a few weeks ago made it sound like that might be a possibility

True on the Grammercy Tavern / Union Square / Eleven Madison; but for an out of towner, these are among the best restaurants in NYC (or the world!), and cans of these awesome beers run $18+ each... and dinner is expensive (menupages.com) depends on what you want!!
Honestly the last time I went to Lupulo, they were out of the first 5 beers that I tried to order on the Chalkboard and paper menu.... To their credit, after 20 minutes of this back and forth, someone who seemed to know beer comped me a Evil Twin Biscotti bomber! But before going back, may make sense to see if they are still doing beer like they used to.

Jacob's Pickel's sibling restaurant, Maison Pickle also has a pretty good tap list with great food.

For midtown, District Tap House has food that's a level above bar food and a solid beer selection. It's also a short walk away from Rattle n Hum West, if you are up for more rounds.

Ivan Ramen is incredible! This is crazy talk. All these other suggestions are pretty milquetoast in comparison, imo. Danny Meyer places are fine but overpriced like most "New American" food, and I think it's a stretch to say that 11MP has a great beer selection when it's just 4 taps and a price gougey bottle list.

Roberta's food is obviously great but the taplist isn't anything special either. There are loads of bars with great taplists and underwhelming bar food, but it's pretty rare that a nicer restaurant spends a decent amount of time/energy on the taplist (John Brown is a notable exception tho).

I miss Lupulo and Luksus, surprisingly it seems like the whole fancy food with fancy beer scene is on the decline in NYC.
