When I first got into beer, I randomly picked up a beer called Duvel... best decision of my life!

Another one, as of recent, was Funkwerks Saison -- Fantastic beer/ Brewery!

New Holland Incorrigible last year. As well as Two Brothers Dog Days.

This year, maybe Destihl gose? or the Great Lakes Honey ale.

BB blackbeard from COAST, BBPt5, and jacks abbey framing hammer were all beers I knew nothing about that I was able to try and was blown away by.
my go to is still breakwater pale ale from dry dock. Nobody talks about it, and it flies under the radar even locally. I had it at an old chicago, and every time I go to dry dock I pick up a growler if its on tap. Its just an APA with all chinook hops during the boil and citra dryhopped. I love that beer.

Local liquor store had Urthel Samaranth for $3 a 750. Had never heard of it and this liquor store has a habit of only really marking down terrible beers (e.g. gluten free beer). So $3 for a quad I figured it was worth a shot. Then I get back home drink it, and realize how stupid I was to not clear out the shelf (still managed to get another five bottles though).

A few years ago while in Milwaukee for Summerfest, stopped in a place for lunch, and after a short conversation with the bartender, I tried a La Fin Du Monde at his suggestion, having never heard of it.
You know how that turned out.

Tried a Lindemans Cuvee Rene. Thousands of dollars and craft beers later and here I am.

RJ Rockers mixed 12 pack a few years back. Never heard of them at the time, and the beer was tasty.

Captain's Daughter - hadn't heard of it yet, saw it in the cooler while I was grabbing a 6'er of Sculpin and decided to give it a whirl. Now I buy as much as I can carry when I see it.

Its not a fancy beer and I don't even know if I would like it today but it is the beer that lead me to craft beers. I was drinking mostly Amber Bock when I first started drinking beer. Went into a beer store and saw a dust covered Pyramid Amberweizen (not 100% sure) and grabbed it. I loved it a the time and haven't been able to find it ever since. I don't think they make it anymore.

While vacationing DC last year stumbled upon Hell on Wood from DuClaw. We like barleywines so picked up a 6 pack. We put one in the fridge at the hotel and drank it. Wow.. Blown away. Went back to the same store to grab more and it was gone.

Some new local brewery had just bottled their first beer. Jack's Abby Kiwi Rising. I needed a 6th beer to make for a 10% discount so I grabbed it on a whim. I was skeptical, it was an IPL? Who even heard of an IPL? Boy was I in for a surprise.

Back in 2012 I swung into a northern Illinois liquor store on my way back to WI. I saw this strange looking box that said "Imperial Special Bitter." I like weird and different beers and at 12.99 it wasn't a big loss if I didn't like it. 2 months later I moved to Montana and that was the first beer I drank. Holy shit!! I was amazed. If you're still curious, it was Firestone Double DBA. Been one of my favorites ever since.

2004ish, Pilsner Urquell at the Back Door Tavern, Fallston Pa. Never heard of it but I had grown up a big Steve Urkel fan, and Urquell sounded kinda like Urkel, so i tried it and loved it.

I was never really a big beer drinker, but the mix-a-six section at my local grocery store intrigued me. I grabbed a couple nondescript brown ales and wheat beers that were okay, but I also got a bottle of something called Torpedo. I never looked back.

Brooklyn Bash. I was at a bar and they had this on tap and I knew nothing at all about it. Im not a big Brooklyn drinker only the lager a few times, not a huge fan. I had very low expectation and it blew me away.
