The wife and I are planning a trip to San Francisco in mid October. Plan on spending a couple days or so in San Francisco area and then driving south, hitting Monterey, Carmel, Big Sur, etc., probably going as far south as San Luis Obispo. What is the best resource/Brewery Map to use to find breweries in the various locations? Not being a Californian, looking at a list of breweries doesn't help much as I have no idea where the cities are located (for example, we might be in Monterey and have no idea a great brewery is in a town just a few miles away). A map would be best to just check what breweries are in the area. Thanks in advance.
If you use Untappd, the app has a location feature for both Breweries and "verified" Venues that you can zoom in and out on to set your radius. The nice thing about it is that it provides the average rating for each brewery (and, if available, link to the tap list), so you can get an idea of how it's perceived. If you're just looking for something on the desktop for the Bay Area: https://projects.sfchronicle.com/guides/brewery-map/
