    Thanks again for your response.

    I suppose a 1/6 bbl keg is just a BIG(er) bottle!?!

    Cheers!

At this point I think my order of preference for Boulevard beers is approximately

    1. Harvest Dance Wheatwine (spiral oak-aged wheatwine dry-hopped with Citra prior to bottling)
    2. Imperial Stout (blend of fresh Dark Truth stout and Dark Truth aged in whiskey barrels)
    3. BBQ (blend of quads aged in bourbon barrels with cherries, with a small % of sour blended in; pasteurized)
    4. 80 Acre Hoppy Wheat
    5. Rye-on-Rye (rye beer aged in rye whiskey barrels)
    6. Dark Truth Imperial Stout
    7. Saison-Brett cellared for 2+ years

All of the above are varying shades of good to world-class, and two of them are year-round (80 Acre and Dark Truth). I don't really drink any of their other beers.

Imperial Stout, BBQ, and Rye on Rye are now all flash pasteurized. I think they started that in late 2013.

I like their beers, especially the smoke stack stuff. The BBQ was excellent IMO.

Boulevard's Smokestack series makes world class beers.

I buy any Smokestack Series beer on sight. Rarely even slightly disappointed. Some of their regulars are good too. Love Single-Wide IPA and Hibiscus Gose...

Their only stinker that I've had was Entwined.

Like I said. "most things" there are 5 beers on that list that I will drink this year. The rest I can live without.

I love me some Boulevard. It's been well distributed in my state since I started drinking beer (at least) and was one of my first "craft beers." Their flagship wheat is a solid beer. Their BB quad is top notch. In fact, most of the smokestack series are good. I just got into the single wide IPA this summer and it is a very respectable IPA.

For the size of brewery they are quite good. My wife went to the brewery in college and apparently it' a pretty nice place.

Like Sierra Nevada. A good standby. Single Wide is my everyday.

Considering there's 12 beers on that list labeled NEW, you must be very close-minded when it comes to trying different styles. Judging by your 3.24 rating of Pliny, I'm going to take all of your commentary with a large grain of salt

I recently had Rye-on-Rye and drank on the recommended date. I really enjoyed it and highly recommend.
Agree that the tripel and Sixth Glass are very good. Wasn't crazy about BBQ, but not a big smoke fan. Never had a bad beer from Boulevard and I believe they are somewhat slept on. Although they're 750s aren't cheap either.

While I was in KC this past weekend, I tried a few of their beers I hadn't had before. They do seem to be a bit on the hoppy side for my incredibly hop-averse tastes, but there's some good non-hoppy beers there.

80 Acre: Actually tried this one a long time ago, not last weekend, because my girlfriend told me she didn't think it was hoppy. Hop threshold exceeded, all I could taste was Wall Of Perfume.

Harvest Dance: Hop threshold exceeded again. Once more, my tongue advised me that the only flavor to be found at all was what I imagine taking a swig of Chanel would be like.

Tank 7: Wanted to try this due to all the buzz around it on here, as I'm getting into saisons and bieres de garde that don't go hop-forward. Alas, I was advised by two bartenders who saw my reaction to Harvest Dance that when the description said dry-hopped, it really meant it. So, I passed on this one.

Two Jokers: Darned tasty. Plenty of orange flavor and a really nice spice profile in a solid wheat base. Would have brought home a case if I could have found one.

I brought home some Dark Truth and Sixth Glass instead, as I was advised those are both tasty and not hop-forward, and will try those this upcoming weekend.

    Yikes! :grimacing:

That sounds pretty close to thinking Tank 7 is garbage to me...

To each his own, I suppose.

Boston area chiming in. All the Boulevard beers that I've had have been very enjoyable, but nothing that has blown my hair back - which is fine. My wife really enjoys Quads, and while she would rather have some of the Belgian versions, we do keep 6th glass around fairly frequently. I like Tank 7, but it's a touch on the strong side. I would drink more of their offerings, but the price is just a touch high for my particular budgetary considerations. Solid brewery. Excellent responsiveness from @TheJermis whenever questions arise. Very positive impression of this brewery.

I have only tried three of their beers and my opinion is that they are a high quality brewery. Love Child 4 is a great sour ale that is highly regarded. Bourbon barrel quad is a very nice bourbon barrel aged beer (though I've not tried the base to compare as others in this thread have referenced). My favorite so far is double wide IPA. Had you described to me the flavor profile of this beer I would have said no thanks. Not what I want in an IPA. It's not your father's IPA and bucks the trend of in your face tropical fruit. It really opened my eyes to the creativity of the folks at Boulevard. It is resinous and piney so you know it's an IPA, but the notes of mint, toffee and apricot will take you for a ride. How's that for an IPA? Delicious, that's how. I can only hope their other beers that I surely will try are as creative.

Delicious. Great beer at a great price in my neck of the woods. I would be flat broke of Saison Brett came in 4 packs and was available year round.
