Bourbon County Release in/near Philly

State stores in PA don't sell beer. Distributors sell cases but my understanding is the Bourbon County stuff is allotted based on how much GI the store sells during the year. Bottle shops sell singles but often the BCBS stuff is reserved in advance. You might try places like the Beer Shoppe in Ardmore right when they open or other off the grid places. Wegmans or Whole Foods might also have some if you get there early.

Pretty much any of the popular bottle shops will have it, the question is whether you can get there before it sells out, or whether it's even advertised, and if you're willing to pay some high prices.

Last year BCBS came out weeks later in PA/Delaware, not on Black Friday like other areas...

 

Not true, I got it before Black Friday in PA.

 

I got some at Whole Foods in Glen Mills last year....they also had it on draft.

 

I'm not certain but I didn't think any store in Delaware got it last year at least from what I heard. Again I may be mistaken but , hopefully this year will be different.

 

The Total Wine on Naamans Road off of I-95 is where I bought some last year. They limited you to a 4 pack of either the regular BCBS or Barleywine, and one 22 oz of the Backyard Rye. But they had a whole stack of cases behind the customer service counter.

 

When exactly did they have this last year? I go there often from Philly.

 

I can't remember. But it definitely wasn't Black Friday. Probably the week after.

Not really sure what is at either of these addresses. I initially thought the Wednesday one was local 44, but that's a few blocks away. I'm sure/hope that there will be more info coming in the next few weeks.

 

Wednesday event seems to be very close to City Tap House. That would be my guess.

 

The Black Friday event looks to be the Foodery at their Roxborough location.

 

is this to get bottles or just the versions on tap?

 

Bottles? I don't remember seeing it until December some time.

 

Last year, every place I walked into on Black Friday had bottles. I'm certain I got lucky. Whole Foods Plymouth Meeting, Whole Foods Devon, Wegman's King of Prussia, The Beer Yard in Wayne, TJ's in Paoli, and a beer distributor in Exton.

Even if I strike out entirely this year, it would balance out with the absurd amount I was able to come away with last year.
