    Hey y'all
I'll be staying near Dallas for a couple days I'd appreciate any recommendations. I'm all across the board but mainly stick to stouts, IPAs and sours. If you can recommend places (Doesn't necessarily have to be bar or brewery) with great food and ambiance that would also be greatly appreciated. Happy Holidays y'all!

We've got a bunch of Stouts/Porters and IPAs on at Braindead, not a sour on currently, but there's one in tank and I'm planning to brew a blackberry gose next week.

Intrinsic Brewing is in Garland, a suburb of Dallas. They have good beers I know they had kettle sours. They have pretty good barbecue.

Just got back from a weekend in Texas, which included a day in Dallas.

In all my dumbass glory, I managed to click on the wrong brewery for directions so ended up landing at Four Corners Breweries rather than Braindead. Because I had walked enough at that point (I came from Deep Ellum Brewing), I stuck it out at Four Corners. Never heard of the place before but I enjoyed the taproom, service was very nice, beer forgettable. Definitely wish I could have done Braindead instead, but not the end of the world.

But that isn't my point of posting. My point is that I am kinda curious about Four Corners. From what I observed they seemed to have HUGE production capacity, like they seem to be similar is size to New Mexico's big brewery, Marble. Yet I have never even heard the name, let alone seen their stuff anywhere besides their taproom. So, am I just unaware and out of the loop or how do they justify the size of that production facility? Curious what the 411 behind them is, because the size of that operation did throw me for a loop.

During the buying phase a few years ago Constellation snatched them up. https://www.brewbound.com/news/constellation-brands-acquires-texas-four-corners-brewing. I think what fueled the purchase was that the brewery has a rather large Hispanic following and their growth within that community. You are right, the tap room is nice, and the beer is forgettable. I could not talk my daughter out of going here back in December, it was a one and done trip, even she admitted the beer wasn't good. One of the beer her husband ordered was clearly oxidized and I made him take it back to the bar and get another one. There are way better breweries in Dallas.....

    Interesting.

i did see that Hispanic market playing out while there, but shocking (atleast IMO) that Constellation bought them out. The beer just was not on the same planet as a Funky Buddha or Ballast Point and their brand has zero presence outside Dallas/Texas. I guess that market angle and production capacity of the place was enough? or do they actually have a market presence that I am just not aware of.

As for now just Texas (that i am aware of), they are here in Houston, I just don't see the brand moving. I guess what bummed me was the fact that they served an obviously flawed beer from their taproom, I just didn't expect something like that from a brewer of that size. I am not sure what their production capacity is, but they have a huge brewery next to the taproom. We'll see what Constellation decides to do with them, but after the deal with BP, be interested to see if they stay in the craft game.

I actually buy a lot of Local Buzz, and it's the only honey beer I've liked.
I also bought a lot of their lagers Sol y Luna previously and less of El Grito. Just flavorful lightly citrusy beers.

I drink very few IPAs because I find them boring and I don't drink very many higher abv beers because I don't really find them to have more flavor to justify the increased impairment.

So I can't say anything about most of Four Corners lineup but I find their lower abv stuff to be quite flavorful and good.

I've no clue about their distribution reach. I buy their beers at Tom Thumb but I live in the DFW area and I don't buy these beers outside of my local Tom Thumb.
