I'm headed to Norman, OK for a conference this week. Looking for suggestions of breweries, bars, and/or beer stores around there with good local/regional selections. I might be headed to Oklahoma City one evening, so any can't-miss recommendations there would be appreciated too. Thanks!

    OKC Bars

    Bricktown

Skinny Slims- Very good beer selection, smaller bar. Good place to watch sports. Usually isn't too crowded unless there's a soccer match on.

Tapwerks- Go here. Awesome selection, moderate prices, knowledgable bartenders. I think they still have a cellar list, though you'll pay a premium price.

The Wedge- Ok, I cheated here. Not really a bar but one of my favorite places to go when I lived in OKC full time. Good pizza (there's better, see Plaza) good beer selection, great prices.

    Plaza District

Oak & Ore- Go here. Nothing but craft taps and craft bottles. Taps are carefully calibrated to the correct temp for the style of beer served. They'll have "Oklahoma Whalez" on tap here. *Oklahoma Whalez= OK only, draft only beer. When you're full of beer and need something to eat, go to...

Empire Slice House- Best pizza I've ever had. Get the Brussel Westbrook. Have an F5 with your pizza. They've also got lots of other craft options but trust me on the F5 with a pizza.

Other good Plaza District Options- The Mule & Saints

    Midtown

Bleu Garten- an open-air patio (with much needed shade) and food trucks. Craft options are limited but you'll find some good local options.

Packards- Good selection, pricey, good food--although it is sometimes hit or miss. Their rooftop bar is worth the trip alone.

Fassler Hall- Loud but fun place. Younger crowd.

McNellies- Craftbeer mainstay in OKC. Older crowd, good craft options.

Pretty sure I'm missing some places but none really come to mind.

    23rd Street Corridor/ Uptown/ Paseo

This area is undergoing a bit of a rebirth (gentrification is a bad word to some).

Pump Bar- Fun place, very big craft list, good prices.

Pizzeria Gusto- Great pizza, smaller selection but good craft options

Pizza 23- Lots of pizza places, huh? Good craft options on tap.

Grandads- Closed temporarily but if/ when they reopen, a fun dive-bar like place.
