I just dont get it!! The beer industry is ruled by bigger than average bearded knowledgeable men, so why is it that 9 out of 10 breweries dont offer any kind of merchandise larger than 1xl???
I own and operate two craft beer and wine stores, I started reaching out to the dozens of local craft breweries I purchase directly from, asking about hoodies and shirts. Only 2 of them offered anything larger than 1xl.

Gotta say I agree with you. Especially when it comes to the European breweries. I've got a fair number of shirts that I've purchased in the largest size available that are still too small.

It could be the cost of additional material to make the larger sizes. When you consider that overall, people are physically larger today, the breweries are missing a significant segment of their customer base.

I just snagged a few shirts from Tombstone here in AZ and they had XXL along with the rest. Most other places I have looked at also had the same. I think maybe its just hit and miss with some.

I have lived in Wisconsin my whole life, and have never seen anyone fit into anything bigger than a XL t-shirt.

We don't sell much gear above an XL at our fests, and get very few requests. It's mostly small, medium, and large.

Most European sports teams don't sell what would be considered XXL gear either. their XL fan gear is considered what would be a large here in the states. A while back I ordered a GoodLife and Breakside Tshirt and they were sized appropriately.

I'm a 2-3XL, and I've got at least a hundred brewery shirts. The 3x's are getting to be fewer and fewer, but still plenty of 2Xs about.

Man, I thought this was going to be about a brewery selling hipster gear when their main consumers are metal heads.

I can usually find my size, XXL. Unfortunately the trend is the paper-thin “stretchy” shirts. I don’t buy those, because they’re junk and only last about six months.

I'm part of a running club. Countless events end with enjoyment of a cold brew. Work hard, party hard has been my experience. Plus I'm 6'3" yet still fit an XL. Could you show me your data to conclude XL and smaller doesn't meet demographic? Perhaps your evidence is more anecdotal than fact based.

The only time that I experienced this type of problem was just the opposite. I wanted a specific shirt but all they had were smalls and a bunch of them in 2XL to 4XL. I suppose that speaks for which popular sizes sell quickly, but it also speaks for the big sizes being available

Have you seen the people at your fests? Not trying to be rude, but there is a large fraction of the 'craft' beer faction that are bigger than XL.

Yes. Over 70 fests ranging from 2,000 to 15,000 people at each fest and the vast majority have been smaller than an XL. And our merch sales reflect this.

I went to the Brewers team store at Miller Park to buy a Christian Yelich jersey with the new logo, and they no longer stock anything bigger than a medium, since no one ever requires a larger size. Christian Yelich himself wears a double small size.
