I can relate. I remember having an alcoholic party recently. Never again.

I live in Richmond, Va. in a particularly low-income area (graduate student budget). These people are absolute free-loaders. I told them to bring their own beverage but none of them did. I said, "Alright, guess you guys didn't get the memo." They proceeded to raid by beer and hard liquor stocks. I'm 6'2'' and over 200 pounds, but try telling a whole group of drunk people at a party "no."

On a side note, I actually never had this problem in college among my peers.

Am I the only one wondering what the OP was up to while all this merriment was going on? You're having a party, and suddenly all the shitfaced people are drinking Zombie Dust-That would get my attention pdq, drunk or not...

Party: a social event in which entertainment, food, and drinks are provided.

BYOB or not, if you're having a party you should keep reserves for the BMC crowd so when they run out, this doesn't happen. Your stash was unlocked in a fridge 'on the deck' within vicinity of the party.

    Where were you, man?

The only thing worse than this is when people mix my top shelf bourbons with Coke or something like that. "Dude, that's what the 4 Roses Yellow Label or Evan Williams is for!"

Sorry. You had a party. Left a fridge of beer on the deck? Fair game imo. Some of my friends would drink lighter fluid if the ran outta beer. Just the way drunk ass people operate. I'm sure if u manned up and talked to them about it they would cover the costs. If its not about the money just a beer snob attitude, well it wasn't good enough for u before but now is kinda thing you also don't really know how drunk people operate when they run outta brew. Lesson learned imo

Don't beat yourself up too badly...you know your mistake in this. Just stow your stash better the next time.

I do understand the bitterness towards those who don't appreciate things, but what do you expect from a bunch of drunks. I've been on both sides of this type of thing. Thankfully, I've evolved from raiding someone's good stuff unless explicitly invited to 'help myself'.

Anything you don't want to share at a party should be out of sight. Can't trust a bunch of drunk people to respect your personal possessions.

IPAs and DIPAs have a short shelf life anyway. Maybe your friends did you a favor and consumed some beers that you'd be drinking mid August and saying "hmmm.. this (insert awesome beer here. HT/GB/Pliny/Nelson/PSue, etc) is a lot maltier than I was hoping it would be".

What beers specifically did your friends bogart?

lol so much butt hurt QQing in this post. You're seriously crying over some IPAs? LOL

I was expecting some BA stouts, or some expensive sours or something. IPAs are a dime a dozen and the easiest beer on the planet to brew. You're one selfish single child.

That even sounds a bit rude. If they know you're into IPAs and craft beer, I would assume they should ask if they could drink those beers first.

If it's a party to get wasted at, I either ask if it's something nicer or just go for whatever bad beer no one will miss.

Gandhi Bot is hard to come by apparently, don't blame your guests hate on the brewery for making such a limited product with a high demand.

Edit I've never purchased the G-bot but I doubt it is cheap.

You asked - so I will call the Whaambulance for you.

    1. You were showing off having these beers in your porch refrigerator. As John Lee Hooker would say, " Serves you right to suffer." That fridge should have been stocked with a 30 pack of something that cost you less than the bomber, or whatever you are crying about. You could have cooked brats in if it didn't get consumed by your 'faced friends.

    2. You might learn something from the newer Corona Light commercial were the subject comes to a party and realizes things are different from his schoolboy daze. He realizes he has grown up. As Alice Cooper would tell you, "School's Out."

    3. Love the humble brag related to your epic basement stash.

Ah yes...Reason #9001 I keep my good beer in a minifridge in my bedroom. I keep basic stuff and homebrews in my kitchen fridge; the basic stuff I don't care about parting with and the homebrews are cryptically marked so only I know what's actually in the bottles. Generally people get scared by secret codes scrawled on bottles.

Sorry, but I really feel like you were just naive here. You expected that people who were drunk and wanted to keep drinking would suddenly discriminate about what beer they were drinking?

If you didn't want them downing your beer, you shouldn't have offered it. And if you're okay with them drinking it, then what's the problem?
