OK, so I am sure there is a post on this somewhere previously, but for the life of me I can't find it with the search function... I can't be the only one confused by this, so I will ask the question!

What is the difference between the 2 standard Gueuze from Cantillon? I mean these:

    Cantillon Gueuze 100% Lambic:

    Cantillon Gueuze 100% Lambic-Bio:

I have read everything on Cantillon's website, and the best I can figure is they switched to all organic grain in 2001, but due to the blending over 3 years, the first year of all organic Gueuze was 2003 (when the 2nd listing was added). According to Cantillon's own website, they have only used organic grains in 100% of their beers since then - so there are no 'non-organic' gueuze made in the last decade.

I know there are different labels in the US vs EU because of organic labeling laws, and there are occasional special labels from Cantillon (like the Belgian flag one) but the beer in the bottles is always the same.

Am I correct in thinking that the only difference between these beers is that the first one is for all regular Geuze made before 2003, and the second is for all Geuze made after 2003?

It seems odd to me that there are 2 listings for the same beer if the only thing that changed was that the grains became all organic in 2001... Curious if anyone else has an explanation or if I am missing something,

    thanks!

Same beer, two listings. One is label for Europe the other is label for export to US. Two different set of rules for what can be called Organic.

Topic raised periodically but no merge has been done. Probably because of the different labels and markets.

That is what I suspected. Just seemed really odd that these listings haven't been combined and the duplicate retired.
