So did they ever come out with 16 variations!?

I wish I would have started taking interest in craft beer last November when I still could have picked up 8 bottles of 16

I read (around here) about a new BB 4pk stout with vanilla and cinnamon or summat, sounded like they were talking about one of the 16 variants. I think it was the same post that said they would be in stores within the next few months, but take everything I say with a handful of salt haha.

I was referring to WI-Beer-Man's post last October about "16 with vanilla, cacao nibs, maybe coffee". I thought maybe they had a extremely limited release at the aniv party but I've never heard anymore about it so I don't believe it ended up happening.

I don't believe the new stout will be 16 with vanilla and cinnamon added. I would think it's more a long the lines of the CW Reserve Series.

We can take the conversation over to the other thread though...

Just my opinion but I thought it was a pretty safe assumption. Sorry if you don't feel like I'm qualified to comment... I'm just a noob that enjoys talking beer

I was at the anniversary party and saw no 16 varients but there was 16 on draft starting at 3pm. I got the last 4 bottles of their headless huron and that was the first beer to sell out.

Headless heron is still collecting dust on shelves in Milwaukee.

Has anyone seen/ heard of 16 variants or is this just a product of the internet?

It lasted until December in Madison much to my pleasure. It was released a little later than other beers of the style so I wonder if people had their fill of pumpkin. It's good stuff.

I'm pretty sure some stores still have it. Jen St. Market is one.

I still see heron around. I picked up 2 bottles back around Halloween and didnt care for it much. The chocolate rye porter sold out fast at the party. I got a cup of 16 then tried the porter to see if I liked it enough to buy a few bottles. It was all gone by the time I finished the cup and got to table to buy bottles.

For whatever it's worth... when they did a "free pours night" at a liquor store in Madison back in late fall, the rep doing the pours muttered something about the brewery experimenting with variants. I don't remember where the original quote is floating around on the site here, but I think it popped up right around the time of this tasting.. if the poster was part of the crowd I was in, then let's just say he is a lot more hopeful than I am. The context of the larger conversation wouldn't seem to indicate that any of us should be holding our breath.

Someone in the drinking crowd basically suggested something to the effect that it would be nice to try a "coffee-this" or a "vanilla-that" and I think the rep was probably just running with it to make conversation.

I originally posted about 16 variants. I spoke with someone from the brewery at a tap takeover who stated it was something they were working on. No indication of how far down the road it will be. I didn't ask a lot of questions because I wasn't thinking clearly.

Not just a product of the Internet; Anello told me back in (IIRC) November that anniversary beer variants was something they were looking hard at, though whether anything would come of it to the point of public release was unknown.

My guess would be that looking harder at adjuncts may have resulted in the rumored Tiramisu Stout and possibly resurrecting Peruvian Morning, rather than variants. Not a bad outcome at all.
