I guess I disagree with your comment....Its easy to do, if you have a couple of volunteer people who overlook it.. (you have a lot on your plate, so understand you not wanting to do it)

There have been bans for Memes, people acting like Aholes, and other stuff like that where I dont see what the big deal is for banning thieves...If a guy is PROVEN a thief, ban....Just going over the first page its pretty easy to see who bad traders/thiefs are...Just believe it would be a huge help to stopping theifs who enjoy this site...

Just my opinion, and I know its been said time and time again...but the my word vs your word is not a good excuse as its easy to prove who is lying....

    thanks

Being able to lock your trade posts would be nice, sometimes I don't want unsolicited 'help' or the comments just get out of hand.

This is a good idea. Leave it up the poster of they want feedback or not. Have a little box next to the post button that says "Don't Allow Comments" and you check the box if you don't want comments. Is that possible?

Beat me to it, that emoticon is my least favorite part of this site. Thanks to listening to all our feedback by the way.

You mean similar to the list that already exists on the main Trading page, but more inclusive?

Yes, this page has a bad traders list but a way to show the entire list of bad trades, not just the subset that appears now.

Easy? Sounds like you've never moderated an enormous forum before. Who's going to be in charge of this? Why should we trust them to ban people? What proof will be used? There's always 2-sides to a trade. Who's going to intervene in a dispute? Who's going to handle the banned user when they come back? How will they know when they've come back, and before another person gets burned? What if a mistake was made? Etc, etc.

Again, you trade at your own risk. We provided everyone with a forum, a means to communicate privately, ability to tag beers, and, after many years and hundreds of requests, a feedback system. Use the feedback system, demand people ship first, don't trade with anyone who has bad feedback. If you don't ... well that's your fault, right?

There's only 126 people with bad feedback right now, and most are no longer active (only 23 are active after June 2014). We could create a list, but simply viewing their account indicates that they've received bad feedback.

And the list on the Trading page shows recently active users (last 7 days, up to 50) with bad feedback.

Re: the suggestion to remove replies or lock threads. The ability to self-lock a thread doesn't exist for non-mods, but I'm all for removing replies again. Moderation has proven that most replies are high-fives / good luck wishes to the op (fluff), "BM sent" (derp, no shit!), or someone threadshitting (entertainment for the peanut gallery). Any helpful comments tend to get lost and could easily be made privately.

Any way of differentiating IP trades and shipped trades? Even if someone has perfect feedback from 15 trades they could all be IP and the person can have no history of shipping beer correctly. That is something I would like to be able to know before engaging in a potential deal.

Ive moderated a forum with over 5k people on it..No, not as large as this, but very large...And yes, ive banned people for things like you guys have done...Looking at the first page, its pretty easy to determine a couple of people are bad traders..That is just there..."Proof" is the judgment of the people you TRUST to do this...YOu trust @F2brewers to ban people (im totally assuming here), I dont see no difference...If people find a way around an IP ban, so be it...Most people dont know how or wont go through the trouble..So what if a mistake was made..People have been mistakenly banned from here before....I guess I just disagree with your post...My only point is I think its ridiculous that "we" allow thieves to run around the site, yet "we" ban people who troll...

WITH THAT SAID, you are 100% correct on using the system that is here...If that is all it will be, people need to learn to use it..

Yet with all of us calling people out, a few people have got their beers..how bout that? "thieves" get publically outed and walla, they got their beer.....Yeah, lets stop that....Sorry..Theives need to be called every name in the book as they are useless..

No. There's a huge difference. I've known/worked with Kevin for over a decade, and trust him on many levels. We're also good friends.

My point: It's nowhere even close to as easy as you're pitching it to be, and we have a system in place; use it.

I understand..Just thought Id bring it up again, knowing it would get shot down,lol.....

With that said, maybe a sticky at the top of the forum with what you should do to trade..mentioning the system we have in place....have some of us come up with a HOW TO TRADE HERE list...

I'd also love to hear ideas on how we can clean-up the Beer Trading Talk & Help forum to make it more useful. Like: Are there certain types of threads that need to go? Can we utilize prefixes? Open to ideas.

an area designed for "how do i land a so&so beer" would eliminate a lot of the repetitiveness..

Or are these threads simply ways to get around ISO:FT, create a discussion around an "offer," or inflate values?

Just curious based on past complaints.

I see it as 2 kinds of people..
    A) the person who has a bottle they literally have no idea the value on and are looking for some input on what it trades for
    B) the person who has offered the same beer or has been iso the same beer and has had no success & is looking for solutions on how to deal said bottle or complete said iso...

Would like to see the entire list. Yes, can look at individual users if I am trading with an individual. But reason I would like to see an all encompassing list is the visibility it has to all users who want to see all bad traders. Part of the defense we have against bad traders is if they value their reputation with the comminuty, they know a bad trade will reflect poorly on them. How many times does having people publicly outed as bad traders result in them making things right. Also, public visibility of their bad trades is a deterrent. Some people wont care or will disappear, but we need this defense.
