    Hi all,

My first post looking for some community knowledge.

The family is gathering for Christmas brunch and the wives are planning on serving mimosas but I'm looking to include something more brew related for us beer drinkers.

Mulled cider and ales are an option but i wanted to throw the question out there if anyone had beer cordial recipes with a holiday bent that they would recommend.

    Thanks!

mimosa is juice and champagne (sparkling whatever), so get a beer equivalent: a radler or a shandy

Do an American wheat beer and a fruit lambic like one from lindemands (sp?) since they tend to run a little sweet it will be cut by the wheat. get a few different of the fruit flavors ie kriek framboise cassis ect I bet the wives will like your option better

Beer cocktail articles seem to be commonplace in entertaining and food magazines nowadays, so I'd think if you google this topic that you'd come up with something that you'd like. I have not tried any, so I can't recommend one to you.

Even better: Gueuze-mosas - 1 part Cuvee Rene (unless you feel like using something fancy) and 1 part juice.

Another fun idea is taking 8oz of the biggest imperial stout you can find and pouring in a couple ounces of eggnog. Sounds gross, but trust me, it's freaking delicious.

Fruit lambic like Lindemans or Kasteel.

    Berliner Weisse with Midori added.

Pull off a Dirty Hoe! Hoegaarden topped off with framboise. Tastes great.

I'd try Lindemann's Kriek with either Fuller's Chocolate Stout or Samuel Smith Organic Chocolate. It's a low abv chocolate covered cherry.

You feeling froggy....mix Troegs Mad Elf with a Brooklyn Chocolate stout. It tastes awesome, but it's pretty boozy.

If you want straight beer...try a hefeweizen or a dunkelweizen. Preferably Weihenstephener or HofBrau. That's good breakfast bier.

I realize it's too late for this year but protip for 2019: get a case of the 2014 Samichlaus Helles. Ignore. Split a few bottles with the family over the holidays in 2019.

As cordial as beer gets without giving you immediate onset diabetes, and you don't have to experiment with any cocktail bullshit.

Beermosa is the way to go! I've found that a good sour golden ale or sour IPA is perfect (I'm partial to Trinity's Red Swingline).

Brass Monkeys should also do the trick! drink a 40oz down to the label then fill back up with OJ. Thats sort of like a mimosa somewhat.

I've had this as a hair of the dog drink before and it's really really good. I second your suggestion.

Some people will make an Aperol Spritz with ordinary industrial euro lagers, and that's just fine, but it also works very well with a dry tart saison like Brooklyn Sorachi Ace.
