    (unless you're waiting for a beer festival to open) . . .

    LINE. SHARES. ARE. STUPID.

There, I said it. Come at me bros.

I'm in line to buy furniture. Let's drink in public!

I'm in line to buy groceries. Let's drink in public!

I'm in line with my 9 year old to go watch Peter Rabbit. Let's drink in public!

I have a wife and 2 kids at home and yet I'm in line at 5:30 in the morning on a random Saturday in December to buy 2 bottles of barrel-aged stout that I'll just turn around and try to flip in a trade or sell on the secondary market: Let's drink in public!

    So weird.

I don't have time to read the whole thread right now. Has anyone already used 'pumpkin beer is an abomination and fit for nothing but pouring down the sink?'

If that's already taken, I'll go with 'I actually like 22oz bombers'.

There are way too many IPAs being brewed.

IPAs are not the answer to every food and beer pairing question. In fact, they don't pair well with most foods. An IPA with a nice chunk of aged cheddar, though, is a thing of beauty.

If you want a milkshake, drink a milkshake. Not a beer. Sorry Tired Hands.

Sorry if this has been mentioned already - I’m late to the game and this thread has moved quickly.

Anyway - “world class”. It’s use should result in an auto-ban

Regular online conversation amongst a group of strangers on the narrow topic of beer is likely an indication of a social deficiency.

    I bet I wouldn't like that beer...sue me.

I don't like flights, but at the same time I routinely get them. Breweries are constantly brewing new beers that I haven't had. There's ALOT of bad beer out there, especially at tap rooms, where brewers are putting out experimental beers or beers they haven't yet dialed in.

Some of these beers are quite expensive, I don't want to drop $8 for a pint of some experiment. Unfortunately, flights are necessary in today's craft beer world.

I've read the whole thread and still haven't seen this one...I HATE 16 oz. cans. It's irresponsible packaging for the majority of ABVs on today's beers.

I could never take Otis the Walker Coonhound to any public place. He would be loved and want to be rubbed by everyone. He is very gregarious and seeks out humans. He is a cool dog, but he could create chaos without even making enemies. He's a comic and very funny..Still....My old Lab Lily could go anywhere and not a soul would ever object. She had great manners and a real sense of decorum. My dogs are always happier at home anyway.

Much as I drink and enjoy Bourbon Barrel Aged stouts, I might never touch another if I could buy enough Rum Barrel Aged stouts. And RBA quads. And RBA scotch ales. And RBA porters. Rum eats Bourbon's lunch.

There's a couple I see at some of my local breweries. Her dog is a small-medium mixed breed who is very shy, and just sits on the bench next to Mom. His dog is a huge Great Pyrenees. Biggest pile of white fluff you've ever seen. He just lays next to Dad, basically daring people to not fluff him up. Loves every bit of attention he gets.

I get it. So I don't disagree with people hating flights. I want a full beer. But I would say the majority of the time 2 or 3 out of the 4 beers I get on a flight are something I would be extremely disappointed if I ordered a full pint of.

People that go through the levels and graduate are and should be considered experts. I just believe the name is trying to play off the wine industries “sommelier” and sound fancy. Thinking a word sounds snobby is in no way an ignorant statement or a knock on the skills that are required to achieve it. The topic was “Controversial Beer Opinions”

I have a limited capacity for self-loathing and am tired of being shamed for preferring NEDIPA's over almost any other style of beer ninety-nine-point-something perecent of the time.

NEIPA is a distinct style from AIPA.

I hate those iPads that make you opt not to tip 20% before you can have a case of cans slid across the counter to you.

One thing that really annoys me is people that cite "truck chasers" as the reason they can't get their "fair share" of cult beers. I can either go to one store, stand in line for the one or two BCBS or CBS or Pirate Bombs and then go home and whine how truck chasers are preventing me from buying more - or - I can think it out, hit a few stores where I've had luck before, and get more than the one or two. There is no limit, there is no fair share. I'm putting some thought into it, spending time, gas, and dollars and ending up with more. Not like I'm cornering the market to resell or trade, it's for my consumption. There is even one store in town that has twice offered me all they have left in order to just be done with the hype - so I go there first.

Most West Coast IPAs are better than most New England IPAs.
A beer isn't good just because it's hazy, expensive, or difficult to obtain.
"Shelf beer" should NEVER be seen as an insult.
Brown ales are the most underappreciated style of beer.
An imperial stout isn't good just because you add a dozen flavorings and age it in a barrel; in fact, I usually prefer them without.
    Frosted glasses are an abomination.
Glassware in general is super important and I reserve my right to be anal about it.

...That's all I can think of right now. I'm sure I'll add more later.
