Yea Ive been going since 2011 and last year was the only year they sold old vintages and only back to 2011. This year they said they are not doing to go bottles though so I highly doubt they will sell old DL this year.

First time going to DLD - I have a question I'm hoping someone might help me with:
What's the best way to get to the event from a hotel? It seems like driving yourself there isn't a very good idea; are there buses from the hotels or local bars?
(I'll probably stay at a hotel in one of the suburbs - Lansing, Hammond, Schererville, or Merrillville.)

    Thanks for any help!

Well that answers that. I suppose I'll have to wrangle up the vintage stuff then. Got a few pals who want to do a vert when the '15 hits.

They did say they will be doing to go the day before and the day after but no word on what they will have

Did I miss an official announcement from FFF about bottle sales? I know the event planner has allegedly confirmed it, but lets wait to say it's not happening for sure until FFF makes the official announcement.

This is the argument of the thread. The events group has already confirmed that at this time they're not planning to do bottle sales on-premise during Saturday and that folks should plan to buy Friday or Sunday. They did leave the window open to what amounts to "special buying times" as well, and we all know pretty much everything about the event is subject to change up until the gates open (or later).

However, I see no reason to be stubborn about whether something is fact or not despite the guardedness of Three Floyds over communication ahead of their event - most people just don't have the ability to wait, especially if they're planning a trip. To me, if the guys Three Floyds is paying to run their event say "plan on $20/bottle for Dark Lord and plan to buy other beers Friday or Sunday," it makes sense to do that, and if things are different on Saturday (i.e. cheaper Dark Lord and other package sales), it's like mini-Christmas.

I think half of this thread is speculation... lol

That sounds like just a speculation though

I will say that it's a little crazy to me that speculation can run for this long; I'd have thought most of these details would be hashed out by now. As someone who has no horse in the race I don't really care (gen'l admission, don't have any interest in buying cases of FFF beer that day), but this must be supremely frustrating for those of you for whom bottle/case sales are a large part of why you go.

It's also pretty great how strong this thread is going after getting off to a slow start in January!

My question is, why aren't we speculating on the BA variants?

I read on a forum that this year they were doing bacon Dark Lord

Because BVDL is always confirmed and the only one worth buying?

edit: ok, Brandy was pretty good too.

I think the solution to the argument is pretty simple for people who will be in the area before or after the event. Go get your stuff, whatever you want to buy Friday or Sunday. If they have sales on Saturday then great, less to carry... just make sure you have cash handy.
