Not sure if this is from last year or is this year

Had group A last year and got Handgee. I have group E this year and my wife is coming along this time. If we don't get variants, I'll be happy to get 4 vintage DL bottles.

I was very fortunate to get into the Hampton Inn just down the rode when booking just 2 weeks in advance (there must have been a cancelation). I am staying in the same Hampton Inn this year and am looking forward to the huge bottle share there.

Regarding bottle share, here is my current inventory. Some of this will be coming along for sharing / trading.

Those were the ones offered last year. The post is also 10 months old. I doubt we will be getting the exact same list for this year.

When will the band line up be posted? And do they generally book bands with the current releases, like Exodus for Toxic Maltz etc.

So, anyone think the shortage of variants is due to the brewery fire?

It varies - some years they reveal the lineup a month or a month and a half before DLD, and other years it's about a week. So far, Amon Amarth and Goatwhore are confirmed for 2017 via tour dates and Facebook posts, but I don't think anyone else is known yet.
Sometimes, but not all the bands that have done recent collaboration beers play the fest. Like a few years ago, I thought Pelican would play because they'd recently done Immutable Dusk, but no dice.

First year that I will be skipping DLD in 7 years. It's almost surreal, as DLD kind of marks the start of my craft beer experience. A friend's wedding takes priority though, fo sho.

Hot tips. Get there fucking early if you have the chance. The early morning bottle shares start at midnight, much more heavily by 4-5am and are some of the most fun you will have.

Group A ticket holders, fuck the north line. It has never helped you. Assuming that the same holds true this year, the south line fills slower and moves MUCH faster. That corral shit last year at the north side fucked a lot of A ticket holders. Granted I was there early, as thats just how I DLD, but I know the south line let people in way faster and I had no problems at all getting all the DLD and Dark Matter merch, as well as an early BVDL pour before walking right into the building to pick up my Handjee. If you aren't group A, I have no advice for you. Never had the misfortune of having a ticket that was not A.

Parking. The fire station directly south of the brewery has a huge lot, has always been amongst the cheapest selections, and your vehicle is stumbling distance from the brewery. For some reason, it fills up slow as shit. Maybe most people dont actually drive all the way to the end of the road to check, and just assume its full. You can leave your car there overnight I believe. Super easy place to drop off your shit so you can enjoy the rest of the day.

Other than that, if you care about trying all the variants. just spend your day casually making the rounds to every pouring station. Even the tiny ones by the entrances that get no lines end up pouring a few barrel variants throughout the day. Keep moving and you'll try them all or close to it. I also think the guest taps use to be much higher quality and turned over way quicker so you were always excited to try something. Maybe they just have overdone it with guest taps or people buy less beer, I dont know, but last year the same boring beers seemed to stay on tap allllllll day and it was hard to stay interested. Hope its better this year.

Good luck and have fun everyone. I plan to be drunk as shit in Mexico and forget what I am missing. See you in 2018, assuming I haven't been drafted into some shitty Trump war.

If it's from me a few pages ago, I was just being a smartass.

Really hope that isn't true even though I'm group B.

It's not real. It's a reference to an old FFF joke about how the brewery burned down (it didn't).
