Going on a 7-Day Disney Cruise this summer. Any hope for decent beer on the Disney Fantasy, or am I screwed?

Not much (as of a couple years ago anyways) but I did find Sierra Nevada PA bottle at the adults only pool bar even thought it wasn't listed anywhere. We just brought on a few bombers, few bottle of wine and some Rum Runners to keep us hydrated for the most part.

Was on Fantasy in October. CCB Jai Alai and Invasion were abundant. Couple of other options too from what I remember. Nothing on draft though, all cans.

I can definitely get by with CCB Jai Alai cans!!

The Dream had Jai Alai on draft at one bar. My experience is that the newer ships seem to have a better selection of beer available.

Thought I would report back. I went on a 7-day Western Caribbean cruise on the Disney Fantasy a month ago. Beer selection was generally poor. Cans of Jai Alai were indeed available at several places, but every one I saw or drank was canned in early March! And they tasted like it. There was one JAi Alai tap on the ship, which was at the bar in the "lobby" atrium level. There was one tap of Florida Beer Company's Devil's Triangle IPA which was located outside on the pool level. I liked this beer when I tried it at dinner the night before we embarked. But the beer on the ship was way too warm. They could not keep the keg cold on the pool level. Sad.

Surprisingly, the best deal was on the Fin du Monde bottles at the Wave Bar. They were about $6.25 and were fresh, cold and tasty.

I think Disney is being a really lazy in this area. You could say that, hey, this is not what a Disney Cruise is all about. Well, I would respond by pointing out that they have a whole lot of beer, wine and booze outlets on that ship, and an army of servers to sell it to you at a healthy profit. I guess when you are trapped on the ship, they think you will take what you can get. And they are right, but only to a point.

I get the frustration but this is anything but Disney being lazy. The taps on those ships are no different than taps at your local bar or the shelf space at your local grocery store. All bought and paid for by the big boys. Disney is a publicly traded company and you know they are cashing big checks from AB, Miller Coors, etc.

At least with Disney you can bring some of your own stash on board. I want to say though they started to limit it to a six pack per person. Which of course would not last long, but at every port of call you can bring another six pack.

6 pack per person are the rules now but as said, you can bring more on board from a port of call. When I went on a 3 day about 9 months ago, they had a nice draft selection in the English Pub/sports bar including Celebrator, Jai Alai, Two Hearted and at least one choice from DFH and local FL stuff. They also had a nice bottle list including Duvel and Unibroue selections.
