How dog friendly are the breweries in Bend? My wife and I are making a trip up to Bend in the late Spring and just wondering if I need to find a dog sitter.

On another note, if anyone wants to hang out and drink beer or do an IP trade for some Sac/Bay Area locals let me know!

Crux has an awesome outdoor seating area that you can chill with your dog at. The food cart that they have serving the outdoor seating makes some killer tacos as well.
Worthy has some outdoor seating that you can bring your dog to as well.

Bend in general is super dog-friendly. However, many breweries are also brewpubs which brings different health code rules. Perhaps someone has compiled a list of pet policies for Bend breweries somewhere, but a quick call to the places you want to check out is probably worthwhile.

Thanks for the response fellas! Crux is on the list for sure. We know we can't take them everywhere, but a good patio is always a good time for them:slight_smile:

Good Life? They've got that huge outdoor space now.

Good call, @jason_nwx. If a given brewery/bar has outdoor seating, you can generally expect your dog to be welcome in that area. In addition to the breweries listed at Jason's link, The Lot, Broken Top Bottle Shop, and Crows Feet Commons are dog-friendly places with good to great taplists. We even have a local "beer" made for your dog: http://dawggrog.com/

I'm pretty unsophisticated when it comes to all that computer mumbo jumbo, but if I understand your "musing" question, this is what I did to create a hyperlink (I think that's what this is) for growler guys:

To add the link for the GG site:
    1. copy the GG link
    2. select/highlight the text you want to turn into a link (ie: Growler Guys PDX)
    3. click the little chain link thingy in the fomatting toolbar
    4. paste the link in the URL box
    5. hit "insert"
    That should do it.

That works for the desktop version, with a full browser, but the mobile app on my iPhone doesn't have any kind of toolbar at all - it's just a straight text box. No worries - I'll see if I can dig something up in the pertinent forum.

Hmm. When I paste url's into the iphone text box (as in my two previous posts above) it automatically creates the link in the post. Maybe make sure you're grabbing the whole http:// part when you copy the link?

Thank for the help! We rented a pet friendly house near downtown for the first week of May. Can't wait to see you all up there!

Well we're headed up tomorrow morning, can't wait! If anyone sees a couple wearing "Final Gravity" or any Sacramento Area Brewery t-shirts around Bend, come and say hi. We'll probably have our 3 dogs with us most of the time. I'll be bringing up some local beer to share, assuming we are at places that allow that:wink:

Platypus Pub is great about bottle shares, just make sure you ask when you get there.

The start of day 1! We arrived last night. We had a chance to walk through the Old Mill District, have a pint at 10 Barrel and stop by Newport Market. We're off to Jackson's Corner for a bite and then walk through downtown.

We'll be hitting some breweries tonight. If anyone sees us, say hi. I'll be carrying bottles of some of my locals to give away and/or share with anyone who finds me!

    Cheers!

Well, we're leaving Bend tomorrow. We had a great visit! Thanks for the suggestions. I am pretty stoked to be leaving with De Garde and Ale Apoth bottles as well.

10 Barrel, Crux, and Boneyard were very dog friendly. As were Brother John's, Pine Tavern and Jackson's Corner.

I was bummed that Bend Brewing and Good Times were not dog friendly as they were great spots!

I hope to be back soon, what an awesome town!
