I am headed to Duck for vacation and wanted to get some beer & food recommendations for some BAs. I've done some research and found these places but anyone have opinions on them?

Fishbones Sunset Grille & Raw Bar

Sweet T's Coffee, Beer, & Wine

    The Roadside Bar & Grill

Tommy's Gourmet Market & Wine Emporium

    Wee Winks Market

    Chip's Wine & Beer Market

    Outer Banks Brewing Station

    Trio Wine Beer Cheese

Also any input on where to eat while we are down there? Any great BBQ joints?

Or any locals interested in doing a share one night, 6/27-30?

    Cheers!

I go to Duck every September. These are my go to spots.

Duck Donuts: For donuts and coffee.
Tommy's Gourmet is where I get my beer if I run out while I am there.
    Seafood: Dockside N Duck

I head down to the outer banks several times every summer but unfortunately, we never go to Duck so someone else can chime in there. If you venture out a bit head out to dinner at the Salt Box café. We actually went last week, it's very good.
Best beer spot for bottles is Trio imo, (great cheese plates also) it is just at 4.5 mp, so not too much backtracking from the duck turn off. Plenty of shelf wicked weed and others you can't get in PA.
Brewing station has decent food actually, the beers are pretty basic, but a fun place to visit. BBQ is hit or miss, imo nothing there that is really outstanding to plan around, just stop somewhere with ok reviews (pigman?, high cotton?, etc.)

Duck Donuts for coffee and donuts is a must stop.

Chips and Trio both have decent selections of beer but I would make sure to check dates (for styles that don't age well).

Outer Banks Brewing Station is worth a stop.

A lot of good suggestions so far...I agree with all the beer stops.

In Duck, try Blue Point and Red Sky Cafe for food. Duck Donuts is a must. Treehouse Coffee in Scarborough Faire is great. We never really eat out for breakfast besides getting donuts a morning or two, so someone else may chime in on that. Fishbones is delicious, by the way.

Corolla is about a 15 mile drive, but worth a stop. They have a beer garden with a decent draft selection.

    Some others...

Weeping Radish (first microbrewery in North Carolina, 1986)---the owner is German and makes authentic German brats in house and German beer. It's definitely worth the drive. They were featured on the Food Network. You may even pass it on your way into the area, depending on where you are coming from.

Try Millers, Awful Arthurs, Black Pelican for food in the Kitty Hawk/Kill Devil Hills/Nags Head area.. They are a drive from Duck (maybe 40-45 mins), but worth visiting if in that area. High Cotton for BBQ.

High Cotton has great BBQ as @aleckpa said, Duck Deli also make amazing smoked chicken wings, I highly recommend them. Get there around 11 for them.

As for beer, Trio is good.

I'll be in Duck next week, and I appreciate this thread. Will definitely be checking out Duck Donuts
Any Wicked Weed shelf beers stand out? I like IPA's, Stouts, Pils.
I see a place called Sooey's BBQ is walking distance from my rental - is this place any good?

I didn't go to any of the beer stores since I have access in NC, so I can't speak on the WW. Now Sooey's...I went once and didn't have a great experience. The BBQ wasn't all that great, but I remember the sides were good.

Thanks for all the input! It is always great to get other BAs input on places to hit up.

Any locals interested in doing a share one night, 6/27-30?
I'm bringing with me fresh HT, SoS, SS#2, Trillium, HF Growlers, Tree House growlers, Tired Hands cans, and 2 cases of big bottle stuff from the cellar.

    Cheers!

Just for what it's worth, I've never had a decent beer from Weeping Radish...

Traveling to Carolla, NC in 2 weeks. Most places recommended look like they are farther south. Any good places more North?

The Shack Coffee Shop and Beer Garden is a cool outdoor bar with some good beers.

Lots of good restaurants in Duck (Blue Point, Roadside, Aqua, Eastside - all have craft beer), which isn't too far south from Corolla. The Paper Canoe, which is still in Duck but on the northern end has a decent tap list. I've heard the food at Urban Kitchen is good (Corolla).

    For buying bottles:
    Winks in Duck
    Sweet T's in Duck
    Tommy's Market in Duck
    Harris Teeter in Corolla
The Bier Box, never been but looks like they have a lot of NC craft, obxcraftbeer.com
