I just acquired some beers in a trade and was wondering if anyone has any experience cellaring them and what the effects were. If they are better fresh, i'll just drink them for the holidays, but if some time in the bottle would benefit, then i'd probably go that route, especially with the Olde School at 15% ABV. The beers are:

    DFH Olde School (Barleywine)
    Stone's Double Bastard
Midnight Sun's Moscow Rye (Russian Imperial Stout)
Picobrouwerij Alvinne's Cuvee Freddy (Oud Bruin)
    Uinta's Anniversary Ale (Barleywine)

Let me know your thoughts if you have any experience or have heard anything relating to the cellaring/aging of these beers. Thanks for your input ahead of time.

Main question is: have you had these beers before? If not then you will never be able to tell what aging has done to them.

    Always drink fresh

I've had the Double Bastard, the Moscow Rye, the Cuvee Freddy and the Anniversary Ale fresh before. But not the Olde School. That's one i might not drink fresh just because of the abv, but if someone whose had it fresh can give some feedback that would be great.

Style wise they would all be ok with some aging. Double Bastard is awesome once it gets past two years.
