Bottled on or best by? I can see bottled on, but best by last January?

That said, the big liquor retailer in the area has a bunch of Spaten Okto best by 10/2023. Uh... really?

Came across Tucher Festbier (same package date as @Cstamp3084 's in his post) & picked up a 4pk. First time I've come across it I think so looking forward to trying it.

IDGAF what people think, I love Southern Tier's adjunct crap:
Pumking this year is bit oily and too sweet. Caramel is great and hides the sweetness fairly well. Warlock (my all time favorite) plays more to the actual stout, finely balanced with more coffee and bitterness.

Yeah I noticed last years was a little off but still good. Honestly I prefer it with quite a few months on it, when it’s very much not Pumpkin Beer season. Maybe I’ll pick some up today

I have picked up a couple of cases of Schlafly Pumpkin Ale ( the de facto finest pumpkin ale on the planet, ratings be damned) and several Oktoberfests and I'm ready for more....best time of the year for beer fanatics

This one goes out to @b9d9 -- here's the Ur Märzen we've received in the U.S. for many -- many years. And still damn tasty. Bottled 06/2023.

Getting stocked up. I've had the Victory, Tröegs, and Erdinger before; the rest are new to me. Still on the lookout for a few others. I'm a bit surprised to not see Sly Fox.

That Victory Festbier has always been one of my favorite domestics

@wet_hopz I grabbed 2 bottles before heading out to a concert. Pregamed a bottle in the car and despite not getting the full experience given it wasn’t poured, I thought it was still great. An improvement from last year even

Yeah, well there are a bunch of 10.2023 (meaning bottled 10.2022) floating around here, too. Blame the "year-round" availability.

Picked up a couple half liters of Ayinger OktoberFest Marzens yesterday after coming back from the high country. 3108 wondering if that's the best I can do. Now I just need to find a partner...

Nah, just a one liter Maß Krug!

If you go back to the high country you can (sort of) pretend it's the Alps.

Picked up a four pack a few weeks ago in Asheville of Mecktoberfest from The Olde Mecklenburg Brewery out of Charlotte. Apparently my local just became the only OMB lager retailer in Western NC which makes me happy! Packed on 7-24-23.
A brief description from my first can today:
Nose is biscuits that are toasted with a nice honey quality.
Taste is near perfect as the toasted malt base give me notes of honey and caramel. Hopping lends a perfect balance but is clearly not overtly in the post sip aspirations as the wonderful, toasted honey caramel flavor dominates in the end.
Mouthfeel is very soft and each sip smooth which is a quality i have not come across much in this style.
Overall a world class Marzen IMHO! Rated 4.46
    Cheers!
    Tom

Didn't try Pumking but I did have the caramel variant and I thought it was horrible. Wish they'd bring Rumking back. That was the best one to me.

I saw some Ayinger Oktoberfest 500ML bottles at a shop I frequent yesterday, but it was dated (I think) L2055, this made me think this was last year's batch, so I passed. Can anyone confirm what this year's Ayinger Oktoberfest are dated?
