    Howdy Folks,

It’s the time of the year for Russian River Pliny the Younger! We have 3 releases scheduled:
Doors will open at our usual time of 11am. We will be issuing Tickets that allow you to purchase a glass of Pliny the Younger as people arrive.

There will be 2 colors of tickets:
    • If you get the first color, relax, sit down, start a tab, get something to eat & a warm-up beer or two, you’re getting a Younger.
    • The second color, well, maybe.
When it comes time to tap Younger, we'll sell it to all of the folks with the first color, if you are seated & have a tab with a server, you can stay seated because the server will bring it to you. When we finish serving all the folks with the first color we will do a last call for that color ticket then line up the second color tickets in order (they have numbers written on the back 1-20) & start serving those folks.

In order to get a Pliny the Younger you need to be here before we do last call for that color of tickets (usually around 25-30 minutes after we start pouring it) or you lose your chance & giving it to the next persons in line. I know it might sound a bit complex, but it's really simple & has made our Pliny the Younger release days a lot easier, more civilized & less stressful for everyone involved.

Wednesday the 11th we will shut the doors at 4pm for a few minutes, start a line outside, and Beth will begin making sure everyone who needs/wants a ticket gets one. Remember, we will limit the seats at the bar to make sure we have room for everyone to line up and buy their Younger.

Saturday and Sunday releases will have tickets handed out as doors open. Remember, you can come hang out on our patio and wait for the doors to open but you cannot have alcoholic beverages with you. Wait until we open, then you can buy a beer and wait.

Looks like it'll be the 21st for me...assuming I go the Falling Rock route this year.

A week earlier than normal it appears. None of these are gonna work for me. Anyone heard about any other dates for the other usual locations: Backcountry, Hops & Pie, Cheeky Monk, Freshcraft?

I have yet to miss a year, but that line does seem to lose a little bit of its appeal each year. The fact that we have beers like Superpower, Fix Your Heel, Sculpin, S26's Citra blends, FYIPA, Himalayan IPA, Hop Vivant, Space Dust, Odell IPA, Dugana, etc. on the regular doesn't hurt, too. Even if Pliny is your jam, we have beers that are on the same level.

For the Saturday and Sunday release, anybody have a suggestion as to what time to be there? I'm guessing there is a pretty decent line before the doors open.

Same for Wednesday? Coming from out of town I have no idea what to expect or when to try and get there...

Doors open at 11. I got there at around 9:45 last year and had no issues getting a "real" ticket on Saturday...but it's really hard to say. Events that used to bring 100 people now bring 300. I'd err on the side of getting there earlier.

Last year I got there about 30 minutes after the doors opened and still got the first color ticket which garunteed a pour. Not sure it will be like that again this year, but it's a really well run system.

I got there after open last year and had no problem getting a ticket or pour. Let's not go crazy here people.

Ditto on above. Last year I went twice. Once I went 30 minutes before open and stood out on a cold day unnecessarily. The second time I went, I decided to go 30 minutes late...still got 2 pours and could have gotten a 3rd.

I don't want to start a panic, but it really does seem like events are drawing 3x the crowds they used to. The FRTH runs things VERY well, but I'd still be wary.

So be it...not like there won't be 79 other beers on tap that would make up for it

I'll echo the ease of the event. I went to the Wednesday tapping last year, got there an hour and a half early since it was my first time and didn't know what to expect. Definitely overshot my timing, I was able to get a second pour well after both ticket groups got a pour.

There will be a lot of people there at each tapping but don't let that build any anxiety, there's plenty to go around. Plus the weather will be nice this week(end) so that'll spread some of the crowd outside to the patio area.

Anyone remember what size each pour is? And how much it was? Not that it's going to stop me from getting as many as I can regardless...

Don't quote me, but I wanna say it was $8 for an 8 oz pour last year...
