Fantastic news! Very curious to see who the distributor in CT is, and what kind of allocations we will receive.

I talked to someone and they said special releases won't make it until 2017.

For the last batch of larger CT entries I have heard the same from a few retail managers simply reiterating what the distributors and sales people are telling them. They are new markets so it makes sense to see how their brews sell before any consideration for special release allocations. In fact, if they have a model like Stone that's the prime reason.

One could certainly make the argument the other way. New releases get people excited about the brand. I like FSW a lot. When I was living in Springfield, Double Jack was one of my go-tos. However, Union Jack is very good but pricey, Velvet Merlin is good but nothing special, same can be said for Double Barrel Ale.

If they don't drop Stickee Monkey, Helldorado, Sucaba, Parabola, and/or3 Anniversary beers into CT, well, I'm not even certain they would get my money. I'm not going to get excited over another IPA that's $13.99 per sixer when I can snag fresh Sea Hag at any point, or go to any of the other three breweries in Connecticut that do IPAs better and cheaper than FSW.

When Stone came to CT, IRS, Old Guardian were immediately available and later that year, we got Double Bastard. I'm not sure you count those as "special releases," and I know Stone does a lot more stuff near their brewery, but we got way more than just the year-rounds when Stone dropped into CT.

When Founders came to CT, it was mid summer, and we got KBS the following year.

When Goose Island came to CT, we got BC beers that year along with some variants. We also got the limited sours.

This talk of "waiting to see how sales are" is bullshit at its finest.

I agree, I don't think any of their shelf beers are better than what we already have. Special releases will be the only reason to buy it.

A Firestone Walker tap takeover in Rhode Island is the reason I call myself a beer fan at all so this is great news to me. Love the rare stuff. Really enjoy the shelf beers. All around fantastic news.

FW has been avail in MA for a while now. I like their Pale/hoppy beers a lot, but rarely purchase bottles/cans because they're expensive & stale. Good on draft though.

Any update on when Firestone will be in CT? Forgive me if it is there now, but I am out of state and visiting over Mother's Day weekend.

Should be available in Maine starting next Monday, May 9th. As far as I've heard we should get Union and Easy Jack, Luponic Distortion (limited quantity), and Pivo Pils, no velvet or barrel stuff yet though.

What are the chances that the limited stuff ever gets to CT?

Not to mention FW beers are almost impossible to find fresh on the east coast. Every other major California brewery seems to be able to get beer on shelves quickly, but FW is consistently months old.

Idk, Bear Republic always seemed old when I was living in Mass and I love Racer 5.
