It would be interesting if they started to blend in Barrelworks stuff and make some sour like anniversary beers.

I don't know much about their Barrelworks stuff so I could be wrong, but they're probably already blends.

Some of the Barrelworks beers are blends, but I think UCLABrewN84 was suggesting a blend of Barrelworks beers with Proprietor's Vintage/Reserve beers for an anniversary beer. I think that would be interesting. The latter are the only ones used in the anniversary beers so far.

    E.g.,
    XVIII
Parabola (38% of the final blend)
Helldorado (16% of the final blend)
Bravo (16% of the final blend)
Stickee Monkee (14% of the final blend)
Velvet Merkin (5% of the final blend)
Hydra Cuveè (4% of the final blend)
Wookey Jack (3% of the final blend)
Ol’ Leghorn (2% of the final blend)
Double Jack (2% of the final blend)

    XVII
Bravo (30% of the final blend)
Stickee Monkee (25% of the final blend)
Velvet Merkin (15% of the final blend)
Parabola (15% of the final blend)
Double Double Barrel Ale (8.0% of the final blend)
Helldorado (4.0% of the final blend)
Wookey Jack (3.0% of the final blend)

Ah ok, I see. I don't think I would like that, I haven't been a big fan of sour stouts and things like that. Firestone's anniversary series is one of the best, I hope they keep it along the same track.

I thought the last 2 Anniversary blends were fantastic. Based on my reviews, I liked 18 better than 17.

I also tried 15, with a couple of years on it, and did not like it nearly as much. I definitely prefer their darker blends.

I cracked open an 18 at Dark Lord Day this year. One of the best beers I've ever had. I liked it considerably more than 17, and I thought 17 was amazing.

3 bottles of anniversary plus rare samples, food, band and a Halloween party? I think it might be worth the $75 price tag.

I was surprised to learn that previous releases of their anniversary blends contained Humboldt Brewing beers in them back when they were contract brewing for them. 14 had Black Xantus and 10 had Hemp Ale.

I'd prefer if they just released 8oz bottles of Bzar Beans.

I had a bottle of 17 on Friday for the first time and thought it was fantastic. Made me look forward to the bottle of 18 I have at home, and psyched for 19 to come out.

I'm still ISO XVIII, probably my karma for getting four of the XVII.

I hope they dont put much or any wookey, double jack or other hoppy beers in it this year. I really picked up on those flavors when it was fresh and didnt care for it, hoping some time has taken the wookey taste out of the bottles I still have. Bzar Beans or the really old barrels of double DBA would be a nice addition to get some of that lengthy barrel aged flavor, kind of like what Olde Hickory did with Omega Point with some components being aged 7 years.

hmmm. Ends at 3pm. L.A. to Paso is about 4 hours (more than enough time to sleep off the buzz). I can make it home to take the kids Trick or Treating right? Right?

The XVIII was VERY difficult to get here in Massachusetts last year. Got super lucky and ended up getting one. Definitely will have to be on my game again this year to try to get a XIX
