I can't seem to find anywhere what year FFF first bottled BA Dark Lord, and was curious if anybody here had any idea. Can't imagine there are many (if any) still around anymore.
2011 I believe was the first year. Variants were pappy, bourbon vanilla, and brandy if I recall correctly.
Yeah, I think there were like 12 bottles of Woodford Reserve BA Dark Lord in 2005, swingtops. They're difficult to get, to say the least.
@kodt put together an excellent thread on Dark Lord Day (and the variants, and the bands, and everything else you could think to ask about) here.
Yep, here is the relevant post http://www.beeradvocate.com/communi...day-history-thread.269742/page-2#post-3437735
They were released in 2006, 12 bottles. They are often referred to as 2005 because that is the vintage Dark Lord that went into the barrels, but they have gold wax at were released at 2006 DLD. I think only a few bottles (3 IIRC) were sold via a raffle or lottery system, the rest were kept by FFF employees or family/friends.
