Gotta head down to Jax, FL around the Sept time frame for work. I checked the link below real quick but didn't recognize any breweries.

    http://www.beeradvocate.com/place/city/70/

Any suggestions? I will probably be in town for two nights. Not sure what is outside of Jax, but I could drive up to an hour outside the city to visit a quality brewery.

    Thanks for the help!

Ragtime is probably the first brew pub in the area. Couldn't tell you how it is, been years (15+) since I been. It was good then.

I visit Lynch's regularly when I am in town. It is a good bar and the Scotch Egg is excellent.

Get Al's Pizza while your there. My brother and I bring home frozen Al's whenever we go down there.

Sorry not a lot of help brewery wise, for the most part I'm chasing kids when I'm there not getting to chase beer.

...usually hit total wine just looking for clicks I don't get here in IA.

I like Ragtime for decent food and beer. The music is fun to.

I would recomend that your try Green Room & Engine 15 if your out at the Beach.

I really enjoyed my visit to Aardwolf and think you can safely skip River City (nice patio, food & view, but the beers....)

Definitely check out Beer:30 and Grassroots. Great little bottle shops!

They guys at Beer:30 are awesome!

I agree with the aforementioned suggestions: If you're at the beach, Green Room is not to be missed--if you're a hop head, start with a Head High and then graduate to a Double Overhead. I know this isn't beer, but if you're a bourbon drinker, check out Blind Rabbit as well. Definitely finish the night at Lynch's. Decent drinks but live music more often than not--a party for sure. You'll wake up smelling like Marlboro Reds but it'll be worth it.

If you find yourself in Riverside (little artsy suburb of downtown), check out Intuition. Kickbacks is a good beer bar down that way.

Breweries in Jax/Jax Beach worth checking out; Intuition Ale Works, Aardwolf, Green Room, Engine 15
    Beer Bar; Kickbacks.

Have fun, Florida is awesome and the beer scene is constantly growing. First time I visited about 5-6 years ago there was pretty much nothing, but over the last 2 years its been pretty cool to see what has developed.

    Aardwolf.

Oh, and Intuition Brewing and Dahlia's Pourhouse are both fun. River District is a nice beer scene.

Your username made my jaw drop. For a moment, I thought maybe you were from valley view. The idea of another user on this site living within 15 minutes of me seemed too good to be true. After stalking some of your posts...I see you are from the downingtown area...so disregard.

I drove from central PA to Jax the week before the 4th of July.

The highlight of my trip (beer-wise) was stopping at Aardwolf. They have a coffee/cinnamon stout and an imperial stout with peppers that are show stopping. The later is very hunahpu-esq the other is just a great breakfast beer. I wanted growlers of both but they wouldnt allow it. Those were the 2 best beers I drank my entire trip. I believe they are celebrating their 1-year anniversary in September so im sure they will have amazing things to offer in celebration. i would definitely make that a priority.

This trip I also stopped at Green Room, Beer30 and Grassroots. I regret not buying more bottles at those shops. I didnt have enough time to hit the other places mentioned in this thread but ive been to them in prior years (family lives down there.) From what I hear/read kickbacks is falling apart and engine15 is a waste of time. Intuition seemingly has really grown since my last visit. I saw their canned offerings in nearly every store I went into.
