    Hi All,

Name is Cambabeer and I've been around BA for just over 12 years. I joined very soon after turning legal drinking age (so now you know how old I am, oh well), and discovering my love of beer. I lived in South America at the time and beer selection was... lacking. I tried a dozen or so AALs and euro-lager imports (first beer was a Heineken) until I found a small shop with German imports and tried an Erdinger Pikantus... the beer I credit with hooking me for life. It then because my goal to try every beer I could find.

Moved to the states a year or two later and my craft beer journey has just continued, first in Florida for some years and now in NYC for a good while. I feel like my palate has followed the general beer conversation for the last decade plus where I leaned heavily into German and Belgian styles for a while, then West Coast IPAs all day, and then I definitely jumped on the Hazy train. Now I think I've settled into a "drink everything" phase where I'm pretty much spreading my style consumption around a good bit more.

Definitely gone through phases where I've been more active and less active on the site, and I've never been the biggest contributor, but I've loved the community for the last 12+ years and am glad I found it! Cheers everyone!

Nice write-up! We're glad that you're back to being more active in this site.

Those German beers are good at getting people hooked like they did you. I discovered them later in life, but I have loved them ever since I tried my first ones. (Not a fan of hefes a though.) Now I've got a German-inspired brewery in the city where I live, and the brewer does a great job, so I'm always drinking fresh stuff that's better than the dated bottles in store shelves.
