General concept is that they only have so many that they print so share with people but if there are a lot around and its easy for someone to get another then I think it is no big deal.
Basically common sense, if there arent many around don't take one, if there are why not.....

Maybe we're interpreting the words differently, but to me, Hill said the variation in hops made it more difficult for them to keep quality up. As a result, they chose to find a hop farm/particular acreage that produced the hops that they deemed acceptable for their Citra. I don't see anything that says "we're stopping the pale ale series." You're projecting that they aren't going to produce any more single hop pale ale.

I'm almost positive Citra pale ale was last out October 3rd 2018, when Flora Melange was put out for onsite only.

EDIT: After checking site reviews on here, i'm 100 percent sure. Someone was reviewing a can, canned on 10/1 and a review from someone who drank some on tap on site.

Not projecting that they aren't, just that they might come around more infrequently due to the nature of the selection process

...In any case, @WTCrane is correct per Hill's 10.03.18 post

Just ask someone that works there if it's cool to take one.

If menus are your thing, let the staff at HF know that you would like to take one home with you to commemorate your trip. They will more than likely let you take one home, especially if you ask politely.

In the past, they used to only print three or four menus a day, enough to leave one at each of the registers/serving stations (they were either taped down on the counter or laminated, I don't remember which), and one to pass back to the crowd waiting in line to order.

In your situation, I think the right call would have been to pass your menu back to the guy who asked you for one. If you wanted to keep a copy, you could have asked a staff member once you got to the register and grabbed one on your way out. Still, it sounds like the other guy overreacted to what sounds like a small misunderstanding.

I do not know of anybody else who keeps a tasting room menu, personally, but I did know a guy who used to keep all of his HF receipts as a memento of his past trips. Similar idea, and to each their own, I guess. For most people, though, a photo of the menu is reminder enough of their visit.

Rodman is editorializing a bit, but he is right; give the dude the menu and grab one on the way out.

Thank you all for chiming in on my menu crisis. Next time I will hand off my menu and grab another at the door.

It occurred to me that is what I should have done right after I got my Genology of Morals pour and my friend came over cause we needed 2 for them to pour it. He was like "That guy is pretty pissed" and I looked back and sure enough, he looked pretty pissed.

I honestly was not trying to offend. We got there at opening and there were dozens upon dozens of menus in the plastic holders on the barrel at the entrance and straight ahead where Courtney is usually set up to her right (your left) of that growler fill station on the end.

Anyways, Back to our regularly scheduled program.

2 days away, and Earl kicked yesterday. Gonna have to pick something else for my 750ml Growler.

I mean, even if you should have given the dude your menu, him getting irate about it is a pretty odd overreaction and probably the sign of an unhealthy rage problem. At most, I’d give you an eye roll and carry on living my life.

    This.

I don't react well to that sort of entitlement.

If a grown man couldn't do something that simple for himself, don't turn around and expect me, some random person minding my own business, to cater to your needs with that kind of emotional instability.

Yeah, my bad. I brought us here.

But now I know, take 3 menus when you walk in.

Can't believe I'm gonna drive all the way to HF for a menu they promised to have all week long only to have no menus there for me.

Talk about your bait and switch...

Has Susan ever been canned? I had it on tap years ago in NYC and it blew me away. Wondering if would still hold up after all these years and different NEIPAs...

I think it still holds up great, one of their best hoppy brews. It hasn’t been canned yet.
