BA has decided to limit brewery-specific threads to monthly/annual threads. Hoof Hearted rarely has more than four releases a month, so I think an annual or semi-annual thread is in order. The rationale is to keep things more organized.

    For newcomers (aka FAQ):
Hoof Hearted has two locations (Marengo and Columbus). The Marengo location is where many canning events occur. Marengo canning events are usually announced via Facebook on Mondays and occur on the following Sunday. These events require a ticket to reserve can allotments. Details on allotments and price vary per release. Growler and Draft are both options at these releases and do not require a ticket. Food is often available through a food truck. This location is only open during canning events at this time.

The Columbus brewpub is only open Weds-Sun at this time. They do growler fills, but they are pricy. Canning releases here have become more commonplace, but they are sporadic. Social media is the best option to keep up. Food is available, though pricy.

Overall, HH does a decent job with hazy NE-style IPAs and is a good Ohio brewery. "Flagship" brews include Roller Blabe, Konkey Dong, South of Eleven, and Musk of the Minotaur.

For those looking from the previous thread:
A few releases will round out Oct 2016. This schedule is subject to change, but is what has been rumored.
    • Oct 16th - Wet When Slippery (Marengo, OH location)
    • Oct 23rd - Dragonsaddle (Marengo, OH location) with two releases - morning/afternoon
    • Voltan cans are currently available at the brewpub location for carry out

Thank god. The NE forums have been this way for a while. Its a real improvement.

Good info about HH. Thanks for posting.

Do you think the morning or afternoon session will be harder to get tickets for Dragonsaddle?

I think it is really well done. I wasn't crazy about the bottled version, but was impressed with the 2 cans I had earlier today.

Mango isn't quite as prevalent as prior batches, but it's still delicious. If you wanted a hazy, fruity hop bomb (9% abv to boot), you have it here. Very similar to EWS.

This batch is killer. Juicy fruit bomb. I'm really impressed with the quality of beer these guys put out...worth the drive down from Cleveland today!

I also agree, this beer is phenomenal! Their overall quality keeps getting better and better, especially with the canning runs.

The aroma on this beer is unreal, I just found myself smelling it constantly! My only complaint, to be critical, is that it would have been better at 7-8% vs. 9% as it was a hairrrrr on the sweet/booze side. But honestly, even with that, it is up there with my top Hoof beers at this point. Would pick it over Blabe/Konkey no doubt! It had the juiciness, of course, but the fruit added a bit more complexity in there. Also had a really nice amount of bittering behind it. Just really well done!

Glad we decided to stop down and enjoy the beautiful weather yesterday, just a great day at Hoof.

Updated the picture but no formal announcement. Still debating whether to go to morning or afternoon. Hope to get a couple growler fills of wet and dragonsaddle too, hopefully. Also, I'm not going to do this but what's stopping someone from just getting a ticket for morning and afternoon. :stuck_out_tongue:

Edit: as I say that they announce it haha

New tekus and t-shirts will be available for the event they are dubbing "Where Are My Pants?"

Morning session is 10-2pm, afternoon session is 3-7pm. Also in the works is a new DIPA with wildflower honey, "Trillin' and Chillin'."

Which session do you think will be a harder ticket?

The guy working the register at WWS release told me they had brewed twice as much as usual and would have full allotments at both sessions. i would think people wanting growler fills would go for first session in fear of it running out which may make that session more difficult. Just my opinion.

I'd assume the same rationale for glassware and shirts. Plus people working Monday morning may not want to go to a late session.

If they're smart, they'll hold a few kegs for the evening session.

Any idea on the hop bill for this? Assuming there's a reason this hasn't been brewed for, what is it, over a year?
