Not if they are done right. Some of my favorite beers are pilsners...

it's unfortunate that so many craft beer drinkers will find a well crafted, complex beer boring just because it's not overly hopped, or infused with exotic fruits/vegetables, or 15% abv. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy all of those things too, but there is something to be said for a well done Helles/Pilsner/Bock, etc...

    I love hoppy pilsners.

Noble Ale Works Pistol Whip'd is one of the most underrated beers out there. It's also very cheap.

As long as they don't displace the other lagers, then sure.

It would probably be one of my go-to styles. Probably get a lot of on-the-fence types into craft too.

I haven't had most of the beers that have been mentioned but I would drink Sam Adams Noble Pils regularly if I saw it at the local store. Also, not too long ago I had Lips of Faith Hoppy Bock and also liked. This type of beer makes me very happy.

Coming from a total lager head...Yes! Straub makes the best IPL...period. They don't need to be jacked up with hops, but cut out the sweetness and replace with a a better hop bitterness...oh yeah !!!

Personally I'm not a big fan of this particular movement. Respect to the brewers as they are for the most part well made beers (mainly referring to FW, SN and Victory) but in my opinion they are choosing to highlight an aspect of the beer that was meant to be underlying.

Tried Nooner the other day and I was let down but I'll be probably give Hoppy Lager (lol auto correct on my phone wanted to call it "hippy lager") a try soon on the off chance it'll rub me the right way and because I like supporting Sierra Nevada. Overall though, for now I think I'll stick with my old German and Czech favorites, cheers

Traditional (or even "traditional") Pils from Bavaria, Czech, and some northern ones (Jever... ) are my favorite beers, and there are even one or two interpretations from American brewers that are decent enough, for daily drinking. But some of the newer interpretations from authentic, Craft Brewers (as recognized by the proper sanctioning group) have been too over-the-top for me.

Still, I'll try a "hoppy pale lager" and might even enjoy an oultier from a Crafty brewer, but might not buy them regularly.

Absolutely love Jacks Abbey like all comments above. Love Hoponious Union Mass Rising etc. I just love the fact all they do is LAGERS.
That challenging IMO. And then to get the praise even tougher. I love many beers but I have to say lagers are right there at the top with my favorite styles if not my favorite. I love DIPAs and IPAS etc. But to me a well crafted lager is just a thing of beauty.
Many say they are boring....but why does every beer have be a punch in the pallette
Its tough to find balance and all the nuances in a well crafted lager IMHO

It's hard to beat a thirst-quenching, refreshing, super drinkable hoppy lager.

I can tell you have a love for lagers and pilsners. I have seen you defend Sam Adams Boston Lagers on a few occasions. I have gotten to where I love lagers! When I first started on craft I got to the point where it had to be a DIPA or Imp Stout always. Now I have gotten to where I just love lagers and pils more than anything and a lot of that has to do with the fact you can barely find any. My favorite by far is Sam Smiths Organic Lager. It takes a good palate to appreciate a good lager.

If you mean 'hoppier' lager like the way Jever was some 25 years ago then back to formula absolutely yes. I don't see it even having the supposed 35 IBUs right now and needs to go back to the magic '50' ASAP.
