The Answer Brewpub will easily be the best place to spend your Saturday this week. We'll be tapping both Good Night Mekong & Hunahpu and selling bottles of Good Night Mekong for off-premise consumption.
The day will go as follows:

12 PM: We'll tap Good Night, Mekong and begin bottles sales.
    For bottle purchases:
-Must show ID at the door to receive a wristband. You must show your wristband to be able to purchase.
    -2 Bottles/ Person Limit……only 648 bottles
    -Cash or Credit
    -$20/Bottle

2 PM: We will tap Hunahpu!

There will be NO GROWLER FILLS of either Good Night, Mekong or Hunahpu.

Man I love Mekong and The Answer, but $20 for a 500 mL bottle of coffee stout is ridiculous. That's more expensive than Sump, which I thought was crazy overpriced. I kind of feel like they are taking advantage of their great local support, it rubs me the wrong way.

FWIW they are 650ml bottles, but I've had this and I wouldn't pay $20/bottle to have it again. It's not as good as Good Morning Mekong was IMO. And it was only 13 bucks here at CCB, so 20 is pretty steep.

I agree in part about the price. $20 for a bottle of anything is my upper limit and @rightcoast7 advising these are 650 won't convince me to pull the trigger on this one. My guess for the $7 increase is due to transportation cost to get it to VA but that doesn't hold much water(er beer) since the CCB / HW collabs were the same cost ($13ish) at both locations.

You guys should be over the moon for the opportunity to drink Hunaphu. Be grateful Yankees.

Richmond the traditional home of Yankees?

Thanks for the intel, I'll be there to give Hunaphu a try. Agreed with others about the GNM price. Still not sure if I'll pull the trigger.

According to BA, we are in the South Atlantic so that would put us out of Yankee territory.

In all seriousness though, I think we, local to RVA, are excited for the opportunity to try Huna. The issue brought up was the pricing difference of $13/bottle on Good Night, Mekong at CCB vs the cost for the same product at $20/bottle at The Answer. Also odd is their on premise price is the exact same. Typically OP is the higher cost. Oh well, people will show up and they will burn through all 648 bottles in no time.

Calm down everyone, I was just kidding. I'm aware Virginia's south of the Mason-Dixon Line.

Especially since Richmond was the capital of the Confederacy for a bit... Just saying, that's about as un-Yankee as it gets.

Not sure on the cost but sounds like they have at least a single 1/6 and will be doing 4oz pours.

There have been kegs of Huna tapped at Answer and Mekong before. Was usually like 6oz. pours for $5 or $6 I think.

I'm in 100% agreement here, and can't believe this beer is get the ratings it is. Has nowhere near the mouthfeel or coffee flavor Good Morning, Mekong had, and on top of that it's an overly sweet imperial stout IMO. I would have been okay paying $13, but $20 was ridiculous, especially given that it isn't Good Morning, Mekong tastewise.

That sixtel will go quick. I'm guessing they will limit it to one 4oz. pour per person. I remember the last time they had a keg of Huna at Mekong last year, and it blew in like 30 minutes at 6oz. per. On top of that, a ton of people missed out on the Good Night bottles last Saturday because many were at events such as Wild Friendship, Jackie O's, Bullfrog, etc. That won't be the case this weekend. Should be a great saturday for The Answer!

Showing my ignorance here--but would people really have gone Maine last weekend and RVA this weekend?

Several people from RVA were in Maine last weekend, yes.
