Is the general consensus Craft & Growler and the Dallas Beer Kitchen are the best spots for beer? Any hidden gems? I'll be there mid-October and will be around so if anyone wants to set up an IP trade for 2x FenTao or other JK beers or yellow rose PM me.
Depends what you're looking for. Several great spots all around Dallas for craft beer. Dallas is big, where will you be?
Yeah, unless you want to drive to Oklahoma (anything north of 635), Craft & Growler, On Rotation, Gables Whole Foods, Meddlesome Moth, LUCK, Dallas Beer Kitchen, Community Brewing, and Lakewood Growler are probably your best bets.
They're good, food still need some kinks worked out. Good beers though, just forgot them. Forgot Strangeways, listed On Rotation.
I'd add Common Table and Goodfriend. Common table doesn't have as many taps as other favorites mentioned, but still a favorite for brewers and beer geeks - great rare bottle list too. Also Goodfriend is not too far from uptown either - my personal favorite for relaxed atmosphere.
Hey Now! It's only a 15-20 minute drive to Carrollton, or even about 30 minutes to Denton (which is quickly becoming one of the best beers spots in North Texas! see. Harvest House, Barley & Board, OSDH, East Side, Bearded Monk as well (all within a few blocks of each other!)
Here's a recent thread that covered this topic a bit already: http://www.beeradvocate.com/community/threads/visiting-dallas.332621/
I'll join in on the begging. I already drive to Lewisville and Carrollton on vacation days as it is. Taps & Caps FTW would be a dream come true.
