Classics are classics for a reason. I’ll take a Sierra Nevada or a Guinness for example over almost anything. Mary vary depending on food or season or occasion

…This should be identified under a separate category, considering the overall confusion on authenticity: A ‘hoppy lager’ platforms a principle ingredient that > single hopped (low abv) ales per the [clean] bottom-fermenting yeast

your pre 2022 BBA beer is just an old fucking beer . That's it. Nothing has happened to it besides it got fucking old.
nothing good about that and if you paid extra for it you're a sucker .
( doesn't apply to lambic cuz if you like lambic you've been a sucker)

Give it three more weeks and update this for 2025. The future is now.

(…Even I’m finally joining the 21st century. First and maybe the last time I’m buying a brand new smartphone!)

As have I. My point is, I'd like to see less of the stuff that isn't "good" and only hanging around on the shelf because it's local and more imports and out of state offerings.

But will they take the time to weed out the mediocre stuff or let the distributor push what they want? I'd love to be a consultant who taste tests beers before they are placed. I wouldn't even ask for a fee.

That's what separates a great store from the rest. The biggest hurdle is that people, including many of us, cringe at paying any kind of premium for this sorting service. A truly well curated selection of any product is a premium service. If we want lower prices then we better not bitch about having to sift through mountains of mediocre and out of date options first

Not a fan of their hoppy beers, but their saisons / wild ales are incredible. You can buy a 750 of Arthur for $12, and that's beautiful.

Have you ever tasted Hill Farmstead Everett (Robust Porter)?

I enjoyed a draft glass of Everett last summer during my visit to Stowe:
