I don’t think my gnome would go for that table. However I did have a gaming table in college supported underneath by those heavy Black Label twelve packs

A decade+ ago we had our house redone (total kitchen overhaul, living room & dining room wood floors sanded and finished, etc.) and we were living like we were back in college. There was no furniture in the living room and in the evening we brought a small, portable TV into the living room and we sat in folding chairs (one was like a lounging folding chair the other just a plain old folding chair) with a old case box of Rolling Rock beer as the 'coffee table' between the chairs. On evening I joked to my wife while she was sitting in the basic folding chair that she had the "Edith' chair (from the TV show All in the Family). She replied: "I don't like being Edith". :slight_frown:

That home do-over took almost two months and for 10 days of that time I was on a business trip to the Mid-East (Jordan). That trip irritated the wife since she claimed that was the 'worst portion' of the work. Oh well!?!

    Cheers!

Wow never thought i would see a mention of Mora, MN on BA! My longtime boss during my working years in AZ grew up there, definitely outstanding peeps from her family to go with a lovely sounding brew!
    Cheers!

Cross posted with New Beer Weekend thread. im sharing Bright Path Brewing out of Jim Thorpe, PA and their Snakes-1 English porter. Been a while since I shared a beer and reviewed it, busy past week or two. Figured I should show the porter thread some love!

    onto my review:
I am sampling a 12 oz can at cellar temp and poured into my .5L dimple mug. Picked up the beer at a shop in PA and am drinking it tonight. No date stamping on the label or the can.
the beer pours a dark cola brown and rests slightly darker in my glass. A slightly frothy beige head of 2 cm foams up in my mug. This foam fades to a sturdy edge layering and one large island in the center.
I get scattered lattice when I swirl or take a sip from the beer.
Aroma is heavy on roasted malt and some dark chocolate, with hints of grassy hops in the background. No hint of the low ABV on the nose.
First sip reveals a lighter body and smooth texture and very fine, gentle carbonation. Beer feels gentle on my palate, an easy drinker for sure.
Flavor is similar to the nose with a lot of roasted malts and dark chocolate. There is almost a charred malt note on the flavor and this lingers with a hint of bitterness too. Some hop character is here, but buried behind the roast and a light chocolate note. never any hint of the low ABV. An enjoyable sessionable porter. Very roasty , if that is what you like in a porter this is one you should try.
    4.24 in the BA DB

Last week my wife and I visited Stowe, VT and as good fortune would have it a bar/restaurant (The Bench) across from our hotel had Hill Farmstead Everett on tap. IMO this beer is OUTSTANDING and for my palate the epitome of a Porter.

I will be starting my ale homebrewing soon (September) and this beer is motivating me to once again homebrew my clone of a Hill Farmstead Everett. I conducted a side-by-side tasting of Hill Farmstead Everett and my clone and discussed it in a past thread:

    Cheers to Everett!!!!!

Jack, did you develop your clone recipe or is it out on the Internet for use?
