Indian (Brand) Pale Ale?

    My friend just turned 21 and has started talking to me about beers that he liked. He mentioned that a really good one was IPA, which I thought was awesome since that's my favorite style as well. So I brought over some Lagunitas IPAs one day and he got confused, claiming that in the South, they have a brand of beer called Indian Pale Ale and that's what he was referring to. Can anyone confirm this story or am I just gonna have to assume he has no idea what he's talking about here?

    maybe he was thinking of Indian (Wells) Pale Ale? must be, that brewery is famous
