Hello everyone - I’ll be heading to downtown Indianapolis for a couple days. Will be staying at the Marriott and will be walking or ubering. I saw the following breweries are nearby and can probably visit 2 or 3 - which would be your top choices? (Another question too....are the breweries even worth checking out or simply better to head to taptooms like The Tap, Tomlinson Tap Room, etc) Thanks for your help! Black Acre Sun King Indiana City Chilly Water TwoDeep Metazoa
I will say that I really enjoy Black Acre, highly recommend visiting there. Cool vibe and good beers. Sun King is also pretty good, but not a place I go out of my way for. Don't think I've been to the others so I can't help there, but you may find some more information perusing this thread: https://www.beeradvocate.com/community/threads/indiana-beer-love.487972/
Black Acre is one of my 2 favorite Indy breweries (along with Deviate). Its definitely an Uber from downtown, but closer than Deviate. They had a great Quad IPA on tap last week. The Jockamo Pizza right next to Black Acre is a really solid food option if you're heading that way. "The Tap" always has a nice selection of local and non-local brews. They update their beer list everyday so you can see if anything strikes your fancy. http://www.thetapmassave.com/craft-beer-brew-pub-in-indianapolis-mass-ave/ Don't overlook their own IPA, "Bionic Dragon", its really good. Tomlinson Tap only serves Indiana beers, so you can always find some great local stuff there. They often have beers from Three Floyds and 18th Street if that's what you're looking for. Also, because its in the City Market there are a ton of different food options available if you're doing a late lunch. Enjoy your stay!
