IPAs with vanilla?

    Right now I'm drinking Tired Hands Seasonal IPA, an IPA brewed with ginger, cinnamon, vanilla and squash, and I have to say the vanilla is great with the hops. I haven't tried any other IPAs with vanilla, but I am looking for other IPAs with vanilla because it is a great combo. Suggestions?

    Wow i would've thought vanilla in an IPA would be good, but now I want to try it.

    Mikkeller has a vanilla IPA that I saw a number of places on tap in NYC, but it was going for about $10 a 5 ounce pour.

    Damn, that's pricey, I got 27 more ounces for $.50, but I will definitely look to see if I can find a bottle.

    This makes us immediately think of Great Divide's Rumble. IPA aged in oak, but just screams of vanilla.

    White Oak Jai Alai like gd rumble doesn't have actually vanilla added to it but I found it to have that flavor imparted from the aging.

    I came here to say the same thing!

    You definitely get a ton of vanilla from the oak. It's very much like a super oaked california cab or chard in regard to that big vanilla note.

    I was thinking the exact same thing - Rumble is a huge vanilla bomb and I love it.

    Me neither but I had Horny Goat's Black Vanilla IPA and it was damn tasty.

    Maybe good, but until trying, it doesn't sound good to me. I guess I am wrong. Will have to try !!

    Had it on tap yesterday and yes it does scream vanilla. And it does work. Really enjoyed it and would love to try some other IPAs that include it.

    Vanilla in an IPA doesn't sound like it would work very well. It seems like it would be better suited to the coffee and chocolate flavors of a stout. I'm willing to try anything once though.

    That's what I thought until yesterday, actually works really nicely with Citra hops.

    Were's the vanilla ??????
    It's a decent IPA but no vanilla , not in the taste , not in the nose
