Another "came here to say this."

Toof Ache might be my favorite beer of 2016.

    Move over Massachusetts.

I also visited Suarez Family Brewery and Great Notion this year and believe that the adulation for each is quite deserved.

    Beachwood Blendery

What they're trying to do with American sours is ground breaking (and delicious!)

Thanks for the suggestion. I believe the Blendery's first bottle release was November 2015 however.

Ship Bottom Brewery on Long Beach Island, New Jersey. Contact brewed in PA until last summer, opening day they ran out of beer they sold so much. That killer bee sting honey habanero is outrageous.

Suarez family brewing is legit. They're a front runner for me.

Also Exhibit A in framingham opened up and are killing it currently. Great beers, awesome taproom. I dig it.

I'd also like to throw in Bone Up in Everett. Their quietly releasing killer beers, have one of the most approachable taproom (snacks included with flights!) And have been producing both unique and classic styles exceptionally well.

Chase Healey's new project, American Solera. Fantastic sours.

American Solera in Tulsa, OK is making big waves. Phenomenal oak aged sours and saisons.

Beer Lab HI gets my vote. They mostly do one offs, but if the demand is high enough, they'll brew it again. I'm really digging what they are doing out here though. They use a lot of local ingredients when possible, as well as use locally caught wild yeast strains. The beer scene in Hawai'i has gotten a lot more interesting, with the help of these guys.

Please consider Waredaca Brewing Company in Laytonsville, MD. A beautiful farm brewery on a third generation horse farm. Family run and brewing a really good IPA, a coffee stout, and some tasty gose's.

True, but they only very recently started releasing their "actual" beers. Were they considered last year? Bad timing opening in November

I'd like to add another that I'm currently sitting in.

Creston Brewery in Grand Rapids. Isn't even currently on BA, but should have been (I just attempted to add it - we'll see it tomorrow). Ex-Founders brewer(s) with a killer line up and an awesome space. The only negative I could possibly find is the parking. Currently has 16 beers on tap with a wide range of styles. Fox Deluxe IPA was fantastic, and the Turkish Stout is reminiscent of anything robust and coffee-esque from Founders. Both have amazing body as for a brewery just starting out these and the remaining lineup is beyond impressive.

If this isn't on your radar, it should be - please trust me on this. It will be the next destination in Grand Rapids.
