I posted a pic of some of my caps tonight on FB and was asked what the orange sugar skull cap is. Can't remember. Pretty sure I'm going to feel silly for forgetting this one. Anybody? [IMG] [IMG]

Available by the case at my local Costco...my wife's favorite cap!

I think the Ayinger caps are my faves. We lived about 20 minutes from the brewery while stationed in Germany so it isn't just the nifty cool oktoberfest scene that draws me in. This summer I drove from NC to CA stopping at breweries along the way and found a neat pick-ax cap at Tonopah Brewing in Nevada. The latest find always seems to be the favorite.

First of all, think you just wanted to show off your caps. Which is awesome. (post more pics on one of the other threads on BA, like Saving bottle caps, or Show your beer collection!
I've been collecting caps for 27+ years and Ayinger caps are by far my favorite. Lately, my second favorite is also the whatever the latest is! In this case, the new Smashed Pumpkin by Shipyard - black jack-o-lantern on orange. (Sorry, can't post pics now! Grrr...)
Your trip sounded fun. Makes me recall a trip from Ca. to the Great American Beer Festival years ago. We camped and beer-hunted for the five days we took to get there. Breweries, however, were far and wide back then. The GABF, on the other hand, yielded MANY new caps, as i believe it still does. By the way, what's the skull cap just below the orange Day of the Dead cap?

That is a really cool cap collection you have there OP!
Some really nice caps there. If you'd ever like to trade for some Scottish/British caps, let me know and I'll see what I can do.

Not really a brewery owned by AB (like Goose Island, Blue Point, etc), but just a dba brewery name used by Anheuser-Busch for this brand, which is brewed at AB breweries in Texas and Virginia. From the US label registration:

Im sure you can get Oculto out there in Ca, sirbottlecap, but I wouldn't bother with drinking it to get the cap. (unless you're a purist who has to drink the bottle for the cap to be in the collection) Its not all that great.
My kids (legal drinking age but still kids to me) are big fans but my husband describes it as Zimabeer. He's not far off.
I can get the boys to drink some for you and send you a cap if you'd like.

I believe that there are 5 different cap varieties available on the Oculto 'beer' brand. One with a skull (as seen above), one with a white flower, one with the word 'Oculto' only, one with a symbol that looks a bit like a door key and one with a symbol that looks a bit like a figure '8'. All of the caps are black and white and all have a fine blue ring around the shoulder of the cap. Here is a link to a caps database..... http://www.crowncaps.info/index.php. You may need to copy and paste this html address into your browser. On the database homepage, type in the word 'Oculto' and click on 'Quick Search'. Two of the 5 caps should appear, i.e. the skull. Then click on the link to the Producer 'Broken Barrel Brewing Co'. That should then result in all 5 caps being displayed (for that 'brewery'). Hope it works for you.

I just saw a sixer of it yesterday with three of the designs. It does indeed look like Zimabeer. I had a tough time justifying paying $10 for what appears to be gimmicky crap. But those caps...I sure would like some! Trade?
I am not a purist and have no pride..l'll take any beer cap from anyone, any way (except for ebay).
