    Howdy Ya'll!

Im visiting family in Michigan and I'm wondering if a trip to Dexter to see Jolly Pumpkin is worth it???

I say "worth it" not because I doubt the beer. In fact, JP is one of my favorite brewers. But, it seems like their Pizza Shops/BrewPubs get more attention and talk, then the actually brewery in Dexter.

Please help Michigan Advocates!! Whats say you about Jolly Pumpkins brewery in Dexter??? CHEERS!

I believe dexter is the brewery and is not a brew pub so it isn’t really a place to visit. They do have a location in Ann Arbor (more vegetarian type food), traverse city, and now Detroit. If you want a place to sit and drink their beers the blue tractor in Ann Arbor used to carry a large variety of their beer for on site consumption. You could then visit Arbor brewing if you chose and Hopcat is right up the street too.

If you're looking for Jolly Pumpkin in Dexter, try looking up Null Taphouse. It's a small taphouse/ tasting room that has a wide variety of JP and North Peak on tap. They also have a good selection of JP bottles to go. Pretty sure they don't serve any kind of food there. If you're in the area the tap list and bottles make the place worth stopping at. Hope this is helpful

I'm not sure this is the case anymore. Blue Tractor has started carrying a list of seasonal/one-off beers on their taplist in addition to their staples. IIRC, they may have some North Peak beers available by the bottle, but I can't remember seeing any Jolly Pumpkin last few times I've been there.

That said, you're right about the proximity of Blue Tractor and Arbor, and the Jolly Pumpkin taproom is only 2 blocks away. And they have plenty of non-vegetarian food on their menu. but not a ton of variety--mostly sandwiches and pizza.

Hop Cat is a little further away. More like 5 blocks, but still easy to get to from any of the aforementioned pubs.
